This girl is all ears👂🏻
Meet our friend Sorenia! Her owners noticed her shaking her head and scratching her ears, so they came to Dr. Hart to see what she could do for help.
After taking an ear swab, we looked at the sample under the microscope 🔬and saw she had a yeast infection in her ears!
How does this happen? During allergy season, pets can get itchy and start licking their paws 🐾 and scratching their ears. This makes them get inflamed, where they can grow yeast and bacteria.
Once Dr. Hart and her team saw this, they knew just what to do! They prescribed a medication that had antibiotics and anti-fungal properties and applied them in her ear. Sorenia also had started a medication to help control the itch.
The important part of the story, she came in for a recheck exam!✔️ Sometimes, bacteria can become resistant to antibiotics, so we have to look and make sure the infection is truly gone!
Sorenia got a clean bill of health at her recheck and a gold star in the shape of a treat ⭐️ She is now itch free and happy to play outside! Thanks for your help, Dr. Hart!
