In honor of South Korea banning the trade and sell of dog meat, we’d like to introduce you to Lou!

Lou is an 11 year old Jindo/wirehair terrier mix who was one of the lucky dogs saved from the illegal dog meat trade in Southeast Asia by the Soi Dog Foundation in March 2019! She was then flown to the United States to the Barking Lot rescue. They discovered she had a few minor health issues, but she was doctored up, and after a few months she got lucky again and was adopted by her wonderful parents!

We are happy to know and care for sweet Lou, and think she is pretty amazing for what she has been through 🥰

We were so lucky to know and care for Joey and his wonderful parents, although Joey was not much a fan of ours 😆 He was a special guy and he will be missed! ❤️

This is Joey. He was fortunate enough to have pawrents who loved him so well that he lived to be 16 years old.

They credit his success a great deal to the wonderful folks at Blue Ridge Animal Hospital. They worked with Joey's pawrents to keep him happy and healthy for a very long time.

We are honored that they chose us as the organization to make a donation to in Joey's memory, so that we can help other kitties find their furever home with loving pawrents like Joey had.

We promise that we will do everything we can with this donation so that Joey would be proud of us. 😎😺🐾💖

August is Clear the Shelter month, so each week we are going to highlight a pet from the wonderful Washington County, TN Animal Shelter! 🤩

This smiley Angel is Picante! They are estimating she is a little over a year old! As you can see she is extremely sweet and so photogenic 😍 if you are interested in Picante, please visit the shelter and adopt your new best friend!

With the extreme temperatures this weekend, we just wanted to post a refresher of signs/symptoms of heat stroke! 🔥

If you have to go somewhere with your pet, do not leave them in the car, even for just a few minutes!

Animals going outside should have shade and cool, fresh water available at all times!

Also be cautious when walking your pet on asphalt/concrete - At 80° the asphalt can be as hot as 115°!

July is Lost Pet Prevention month!

Did you know that approximately 10 million animals go missing each year?? This can be a stressful time for both pet and owner, but there are a few things you can do to assure you have the best chance at getting your fur baby back!

1. Identification tags/collars are the number 1 way to get reunited with your pet! Simple and easy!
2. Microchipping is another good idea, BUT registering and keeping information up to date is essential! Data suggests that around 58% of microchips are unregistered/not up to date! 🤯 (Brittany is checking Foxy for his chip number!)
3. ALWAYS use leashes or carriers when taking your fur babies out! Anything can happen to scare/excite them and they can get away from you.

Foxy says make sure you follow these simple steps to keep your pet safe!
