Employment Opportunity:
This position is for a handler to work with a certified service animal trained by Little Angels Service Dogs at an elementary school.
The dog supports a 10-year-old child attending elementary school in the Blue Valley School District (Kansas). This employment is not through Little Angels Service Dogs, but they will help facilitate the training for employment. Little Angels Service Dogs is an ADI-accredited Assistance Animal Organization.
While prior dog experience is preferred, actual handling training will be provided, and service dog experience is not absolutely required. Handler will attend school with the service dog and child. Handler will be responsible for handling the dog throughout the day, including classroom time, transitional periods, and recess/lunch. This will be a part-time schedule, but will be full "school-day" shifts. 2-3 days per week, Monday-Friday. Training will be completed before being on your own with the child and dog.

Our Story

We, Little Angels Service Dogs, are a 501c3 non-profit organization that reaches across the US partnering service dogs with the disabled community, both children and adults. Established in 2006, we’ve spent the last 14 years dedicated to our dogs and their recipients. The dogs go through a three-phase training course before they are ready to give independence to someone with a disability. Our training practices are held to a high standard, and we take that seriously as a member of Assistance Dogs International. It is with this dedication to our recipients and our training practices that we are able to change lives, one dog at a time.

We work with the mission of changing the lives of our recipients, as well as the lives of the offenders in our successful and unique prison training program. Through this program, we partner with Correctional Facilities to kickstart the beginning stages of a dogs training process.

We run completely on the help and support of the community in order to run as a company but also to monetarily support our recipients.
