FOSTER HOME NEEDED - URGENT‼️

We are looking for a temporary foster home ASAP for this stray male Husky (looks like a Malamute to me) that was found on a bypass a few days ago. No owner has been found. He is already neutered, so he was clearly someone’s dog - hopefully not dumped 🤞Our kennels are completely full, with two dogs usually in foster care coming out this week while their foster families are out of town for the Fourth of July. We literally have nowhere to put another dog right now. Our two foster care dogs will be going back to their foster homes next week when their families are back in town, so we can likely make room for him at the shelter early next week! We will supply a collar and leash, food, bedding, toys, and a crate if needed.

If you can help hold on to him for us until next week when we get a kennel opened up, please message us or fill out a foster app below:

BONUS - we will let whoever fosters him name him!!

Our official “No Kill” 2024 plaque from Best Friends Animal Society has arrived!

JRHS has always been a “no-kill” shelter - all cats and dogs that we tag/take in are safe and are not at risk of euthanasia. Of course, we do, on occasion, have situations where it can’t be avoided, but these situations are rare and only ever because it is in the best interest of the animal and recommended by a veterinarian.

Being recognized by Best Friends as a shelter that has saved over 90% of the animals that came into our shelter during the 2024 calendar year is such a huge accomplishment that we are so excited to share with you! We are celebrating every saved life, every pet adopted, and every person and rescue partner that has helped us along the way through the years. We wouldn’t be able to continue to do what we do to save animals without the support of our community and supporters - thank YOU for being part of our lifesaving endeavors! And thank you Best Friends Animal Society for this recognition!

We tried getting a nice picture of an adoptable dog and cat with our plaque, but Lilly and Douglas had other plans! 🐶😸

COURTESY POST:

Koda is a 7 year old female German Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix. "Koda is very friendly and loves attention. She could either go to a home as an only dog or together with Dovey. She loves attention and likes to please. We were told that she had her first vaccines when we got her but don’t have any documentation to show that. She is not spayed."

Dovey is an 11 year old female Border Collie/Lab mix. "Dovey is loyal and likes to go for rides. She likes to sit and be brushed and go for walks around the farm. she would be good as an only dog or with Koda. I attached her immunization record. She is not spayed."

If you are interested in either Koda or Dovey (or both together), please contact Judy and John at 701-830-2486.

COURTESY POST:

Winter is a 6 year old female Lab & Maremma/Ambash mix. "She is a dog who thinks she is a lap dog but doesn’t always like to share her attention with the other dogs. She will follow you around and likes to get dog treats. She has never had immunizations and is not spayed. She is used to being on a farmstead and running around during the day. She sleeps and eats inside the house - she has never needed to be crated."

If you are interested in Winter, please contact Judy and John at 701-830-2486.
