Socialization is about more than just behavior — it can actually have a HUGE impact on your pet’s health and veterinary care experience 💙

Pets who are properly socialized are often:

✔️ Easier to handle for treatments and diagnostics
✔️ Less fearful of new people, sounds, and environments
✔️ More comfortable during grooming, nail trims, and boarding
✔️ Less likely to experience stress-related illness or anxiety behaviors

When pets are extremely fearful or anxious, it can make vet visits harder on both the pet and the medical team. Stress can even affect things like heart rate, blood pressure, appetite, and recovery 🩺

This week’s spotlight goes to the giant sweetheart himself — Bowser 💙🐶

Bowser is a 5-year-old St. Bernard weighing in at an impressive 124 pounds… but we still remember when he first came to see us as a tiny 16-pound puppy 🥹🐾

Watching our patients grow up is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do, and it has been such a pleasure caring for Bowser through every stage of his life. From puppy visits to becoming the gentle giant he is today, he’ll always have a special place in our hearts 💙
