Asphalt can reach 150°F when the air is only 85°F. That's hot enough to cause burns in seconds.

Quick Test: Place the back of your hand on the pavement for 5 seconds. If you can't keep it there, neither can your dog.

Pets can overheat quickly, especially flat-faced breeds, senior pets, and those with thick coats. Watch for:

- Heavy panting
- Excessive drooling
- Lethargy and/or weakness
- Vomiting

If you notice these signs, move your pet to a cool area and call us right away.

🐾 Fluff, Floof, and 114.2 Pounds of Love! 🐾

On Friday we also had the pleasure of seeing Suki, a beautiful large-breed sweetheart who weighed in at 114.2 pounds! ❤️🐶

With her cloud-like white coat, gentle eyes, and calm demeanor, Suki turned heads the moment she walked through our doors. While she may not have matched Caesar's record-setting 265 pounds, she certainly earned her place among our favorite gentle giants!

Suki was an absolute angel for her visit, happily accepting attention and showing everyone just how sweet large-breed dogs can be. We can't get over that gorgeous smile and all that fluffy fur! ☁️✨

Meet Caesar! On Friday this gentle giant visited us and tipped the scales at an impressive 265 pounds! 😲❤️

Despite his massive size, Caesar was an absolute sweetheart, soaking up attention, accepting treats, and charming everyone he met. His droopy jowls, soulful eyes, and larger-than-life personality made him the star of the hospital today!

We always love seeing our giant breed patients, and Caesar definitely left a big paw print on our hearts. 🐶💙
