🎄 Deck the Halls (But Keep the Snacks Off the Floor!) 🐾
The holiday season is here! While we’re busy decorating and wrapping gifts, our pets often think we’re just setting up a giant, indoor scavenger hunt. To keep your furry friends off the "Naughty List" (and out of the emergency clinic), keep a close eye on these three festive hazards:

🎀 1. The "Forbidden Linguine" (Ribbons & String)
Ribbons look like the perfect toy to a cat or a curious pup, but they are incredibly dangerous if swallowed. They can cause a "linear foreign body" (a fancy way of saying a nasty tangle in the tummy) that often requires surgery to fix.

Pro Tip: Stick to bows or keep the curled ribbon out of reach!

🧸 2. The "Shiny Snacks" (Small Toys & Ornaments)
To a dog, a plastic reindeer is just a squeaky toy that doesn’t squeak. To a cat, a small ornament is a sparkly snack. Ingesting these can lead to choking or intestinal blockages.

Pro Tip: Hang the breakable or tiny ornaments on the top half of the tree!

💡 3. The "Spicy Noodles" (Christmas Lights)
Twinkling lights are beautiful, but the cords can be tempting to chew on. Not only is there a risk of electric shock, but if a pet swallows the small bulbs or wire, it can cause internal damage.

Pro Tip: Unplug the lights when you aren't in the room and use cord protectors if you have a known "chewer" at home.
-----------------------------------------------
The Golden Rule: If you see your pet eating something they shouldn't, or if they start acting lethargic or losing their appetite, call your veterinarian right away!
-------------------------------------------
Wishing you and your four-legged family members a safe, happy, and "belly-ache-free" Holiday Season! 🎅🐶🐱

As you deck the halls, remember — festive plants like Holly, Poinsettia and Mistletoe might look pretty, but they can be dangerous pets get curious. Poinsettias often cause mild irritation — drooling, a queasy tummy, maybe a little vomiting if chewed. Holly’s leaves or berries can lead to upset stomach, vomiting or diarrhea in both cats and dogs. Mistletoe is especially risky — ingestion can trigger serious issues such as vomiting, diarrhea, low blood pressure or even seizures, irregular heart rate and breathing problems.
