Bear’s boo-boo is all healed! ❤️‍🩹 It scabbed over quickly, and the scabbing finally is gone. Don’t swipe to the end unless you want to see what the wound looked like right after the bump was removed. I’m so glad there’s no sign of the bump returning.

Silly old Bear! 🩵

Bear had his annual wellness exam and vaccines today. I also had the vet check out a bump that appeared shortly after he received the steroid injection back in October. I contacted the vet about it when I first noticed it and was advised to monitor it for changes. It felt crusty, didn’t change size, and didn’t seem to bother him. Upon examination today, the vet said it looked keratinized. It was actually starting to lift away from the skin around the edges. She was able to remove it. It left a small open wound. He got an antibiotic injection, and I’ll apply antibiotic ointment to it a couple of times a day. He has to wear this baby onesie for a few days so he doesn’t lick it. He managed to get it off in the carrier. I had to put it back on him when we got home because he was licking. He doesn’t seem to mind it too much so far! 🍋

Hopefully the wound will heal up on its own. If the bump comes back, they recommend a surgical procedure to remove it so they can also clean out the cavity and close it up. Fingers crossed that won’t be necessary! If it is, I’m going to see if they can do his next dental at the same time to save him another vet visit. He gets so stressed! Today he managed to wedge himself in a tiny space between the bench seat and the wall in the exam room.

Thank goodness Bodie is low maintenance when it comes to vet visits. I’ve spent almost $900 in the past few months on Bear. 💸 He’s worth it though! ❤️‍🩹

ADOPTED! 🎉

I realized I never made an official adoption post for the Love Bugs. To no one’s surprise, they were all spoken for within a couple of hours of the shelter opening on the first day they were available. These are the sweetest girls who will for sure brighten the lives of their new families and bring so much love into their new homes. 💞🏠

Look who I saw while volunteering at the shelter today! I spent a lot of time cuddling with them. 🥰

The kittens are still waiting for spay surgery, which means their families are still waiting to bring them home. Hopefully soon! I’m sure their families are just as excited as they are!

Firefly! ✨

If you want a clingy lap cat who will be your constant companion, then Firefly is your girl! She loves toys, treats, and other cats/kittems, but what she loves most of all is LOVE! Specifically, human affection. I could be holding her right up against me giving her all the snuggles, and she’d meow at me (while making biscuits) because she still wasn’t close enough. She’s very vocal, and all you have to do is look at her to get her purr motor going. Firefly will be a great fit for most any home, but I would recommend a home where she will have a lot of human attention and not be left alone for extended periods of time. She is ready to be her new family’s best friend! 🥰

The Love Bugs are now available for adoption ! They are so sweet and social (and cute!) that I don’t expect it to take long for them to find their forever homes. If you are interested in meeting and adopting one, two, or all three of them, I recommend visiting the shelter tomorrow. Cricket! 🦗

Cricket is a silly kitten, as you can probably tell from her photoshoot. She is also a very happy and playful girl. She loves carrying toys around in her mouth. She also likes to wrestle with her sisters when they are trying to sleep! She’s super cuddly and brave. She loved Bodie and Bear. She will be a great fit for most any home, but I think she would do best in a home where she has another friendly kitty friend. 💞

Beetle! 🪲

Beetle is a sweet kitten who loves to be held, but she’s not quite as clingy as her sisters. She is a happy girl who loves any and all toys. She is very playful, curious, and easygoing. She would be great for most any home! Beetle is the biggest of the group. She was 2.6 pounds at her final weigh-in yesterday. Her sisters were both 2.25 pounds. 🖤
