I have good news and some (possibly) not so good news.
The good news: the preemies are starting to look like actual kittens and less like little aliens now! They’re all doing really well, besides Brick and Indy having some very minimal URI type symptoms. Brick was sneezing for about a day, and she and Indy both are getting eye ointment for some mild watery eyes.
The potentially bad news: Speedy seems to have something going on with her right eye. Interestingly, Speedy has always been the largest and seemingly least developmentally delayed of the three girls, besides her eyes. Which took the longest to open, and also have always looked slightly “milkier” than her sisters.
Well yesterday I noticed the left one has cleared up significantly, but the right one now very obviously has a central cloudiness to it. She also is starting to obviously lag behind her sisters as far as eyesight goes. (You can tell in the second clip that she walks into the wall of the pen)
These babies are growing so fast and change literally within hours! Also the fact that they’re developmentally delayed complicates things because the milestones are all over the place lol. So it’s really hard to gauge what exactly is going to be an issue or is just a matter of being behind.
Anyway, the humane society has been notified and the only reason I am not crazy concerned about it is that otherwise she is completely asymptomatic right now! She is not acting like it’s painful, she isn’t holding it shut or anything, it’s not watery or weeping, etc. So for now we wait to see what the medical team at HSHC thinks, and I will keep you updated!
