A new chapter for Django 🤍

Django has been delivered to Gulf Coast Humane Society to receive the top-notch medical care, consistency, and support he needs to heal. This moment marks a shift — from survival to stability.

He has been chosen as the flagship dog for their new Silver Paws program, an incredible initiative that ensures senior dogs have their medical care covered for the rest of their lives. After everything Django has endured — starvation, heartworm disease, and being overlooked — he will never again be denied care because of age or medical need.

From a shelter in Las Cruces, to feeling the ocean for the first time, to arriving here — this is what it looks like when people step in and refuse to let a senior dog fall through the cracks.

Django’s only job now is to rest, heal, and remind the world that senior dogs are worthy of investment, compassion, and love. 🐾🤍

Django’s first time seeing the ocean 🌊

For a dog who once knew hunger, neglect, and the walls of a shelter, this moment felt heavy in the best way.

Django stood quietly at the water’s edge — watching the waves, feeling the breeze, taking it all in. No fear. No urgency. Just presence. Just peace.

This wasn’t just his first trip to the ocean.
It was proof that his world has changed.

From surviving to living.
From confinement to open horizons.
From uncertainty to possibility.

New beginnings don’t always come with fireworks. Sometimes they arrive softly — in salt air, warm sand, and a gentle giant realizing life can be kind.

This is only the beginning, Django.

Final Miles for Django 🐾

We’re officially on the last leg in Florida, with drop-off coming later today. 💙

Every mile behind us means Django is that much closer to the care, safety, and comfort he’s waited far too long to receive.

From a shelter in Las Cruces — starved and heartworm positive — to this moment right now, this journey has been powered by compassion, persistence, and people who refused to let him be forgotten. Django has handled this trip with quiet strength, and it’s impossible not to feel the weight of what today represents: relief, hope, and a brand-new beginning.

Soon he’ll step off this transport and into the hands of the team who will help him heal and thrive.
Thank you to everyone who played a part in getting him here — today is because of you.

Meet Django 🤍

Django is a 7-year-old Great Dane who found himself in a Las Cruces shelter after enduring severe neglect. He arrived starved and heartworm positive — exhausted, fragile, yet still incredibly gentle.

Because of the tireless work of an amazing volunteer, Kelly, Django was given a second chance. He’s now headed to Fort Myers, where he’ll receive top-notch medical care, nutrition, and the time he needs to heal and regain his strength.

This journey was made possible by generous donors — and this is why donors are so critical to rescue work. Funding is often the bridge between a dog sitting in a shelter and a dog receiving life-saving care. Without donor support, relocations like this simply wouldn’t happen.

One of the most meaningful moments of this transport was meeting Donna, one of the donors, at the shelter for Django’s freedom walk. Being able to let her spend time with him before we hit the road — to see the life she helped save — was incredibly special and something I’ll never forget.

I’m deeply grateful to everyone who played a role in getting Django here and giving him a future.

✨ Follow along as we count the miles to his destination and cheer Django on toward his new beginning.

✨ Meet Rocky! ✨

I picked this handsome boy up in Iowa and drove him all the way to his new forever home in sunny Arizona. He is the sweetest co-pilot and took the whole journey like a total champ. ❤️🚐🐾

And yes… I know I’ve been super quiet on social lately — still running full routes, saving lives, and juggling some big things happening behind the scenes for Rides 4 Paws. Can’t spill everything yet, but trust me… it’s worth the wait. 😉💙

Rides 4 Paws has officially partnered with SAVVY Capital Management to launch the next chapter of this mission — one that will change everything for the dogs who need us the most.
This partnership marks the beginning of a massive step forward: strategic support, growth planning, and the path toward the facility I’ve needed for a long time. A real place. A safe place. A home base built for rehab, rescue, and the dogs no one else can take.

This is the moment we go from operating out of sheer grit… to building something sustainable, scalable, and truly lifesaving.
