Claire got a new toy and has made one thing VERY clear… it belongs to Claire. Period. 🐾

Anyone else have a dog who takes toy ownership this seriously? 😅

We’re on a hot streak! 🔥

With so many rescue dogs in our care, daily walks are a BIG part of our routine!

Our new Fi Mini trackers are helping us keep tabs on each dog’s activity, daily steps, and exercise. And I have to admit… watching those numbers climb is getting a little addictive!

Silver hit 35,795 steps today! 🐾

Who knew tracking THEIR activity would turn into motivation for ME?! 🚶‍♀️🐕‍🦺

A huge thank you to Fi for helping us keep our rescue crew active and on the move! 💙

🐾 BIG NEWS FOR OUR RIDES 4 PAWS FAMILY! ❤️

One of the hardest parts of rescue is saying goodbye. Not because we don’t want our dogs to find their forever families, but because the worrying doesn’t stop when they leave our care.

We’ve invested so much into giving these dogs a second chance, and knowing they have an extra layer of protection in their new homes means everything.

We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Fi ! 🎉

🐕 Going forward, EVERY dog adopted through Rides 4 Paws Rescue will go home with a Fi Mini GPS tracker AND SIX MONTHS of FREE subscription service!

It’s one more way we’re working to keep our rescues safe long after adoption day, and it gives their new families an added layer of peace of mind, too.

A huge thank-you to Fi Collars for believing in our mission and helping us protect the dogs we’ve worked so hard to save. ❤️🐾

Because once they’re part of our rescue family, they’ll always matter to us.

This line up is just for Benjamin. As you can imagine, it’s an expensive line up. But we vowed to restore Ben to the picture of health when we pulled him from death row in July.

We’ve worked hard to build up Benjamin’s back end but we’re past what we can do on our own. After a second vet visit last week, it was determined Ben needs to see a neurologist.

Right now, our rescue is operating 95% out of our own pocket. This is not sustainable. In order to continue providing Ben with the care he deserves, we need help. Lots of help.

We have a neurology consult on 11/2. We’ll determine what tests he’ll need to begin with. The good news is that Benjamin’s heart and lungs sound great! He’s up for the challenge, so we are, too.

Friends, we’re facing medical bills that will reach into the THOUSANDS. We can’t do this on our own. We need your help. Ben needs your help.

How can you help? Like and share our post. You can donate directly to our VCA account. Or you can donate using any of the methods below. We will post the estimated cost invoice after our appointment next month.

It takes a village to save these dogs. We need our village more than ever. ♥️

🐾 A Little One-on-One Time Goes a Long Way! 🐾

Today was all about individual training sessions with Layla, Nadia, and Silver! We focused on two important skills: walking in a proper heel and patiently waiting at the door before heading outside.

Josh has been putting in some great work with Silver, and it’s wonderful to see the progress they’re making together! 💪🐕

One thing we believe strongly in at Rides 4 Paws Rescue is teaching our dogs the difference between enrichment walks and working walks.

🌿 Enrichment walks are their time to explore! Sniffing, investigating their surroundings, and experiencing the world through their noses provide important mental stimulation and help fulfill their natural instincts.

🐕 Working walks are about structure, focus, and communication. Walking in a heel, paying attention to their handler, and practicing impulse control help build confidence, trust, and good manners.

Both are equally important! A dog should have the freedom to enjoy being a dog, but also understand when it’s time to focus and follow direction. Teaching them to transition between the two creates a more balanced, adaptable companion.

And those few seconds of waiting patiently at the door? That’s more than just good manners! It’s an exercise in impulse control, patience, and learning that calm behavior opens doors—literally!

❤️ Rescue is so much more than getting dogs out of shelters. It’s about putting in the time, patience, and consistency to give them the skills they need to thrive in their future homes.

One walk, one training session, and one small victory at a time. 🐾
