Yep, they go to sleep for the winter months and they let us know when they’re ready by slowing down on food and not basking.

Meet Helen, she is a pytas carinata and just a sweet old girl.

Taylor and Nikki started working with colubrids a few years ago and fell in love with them quite fast. Helen was one of those colubrids we worked with and it’s so special to add her to our collection.

Our baby girl, onyx is starting to slow down to prepare for brumation. 💜

Did you know that a lot of reptiles sleep during winters just as other mammals, like bears, will do? Tegus are one of those reptiles!

However instead of fattening her up, we will take her off food and she’ll sleep in a tub with a blanket for the winter.

It’s just sad because it feels like she just woke up for the year 😩😩
