This sweet boy recently completed Day #1 of his heartworm treatment!
He is 1 of 8 currently undergoing heartworm treatment here, following 2 others who recently finished. We have diagnosed other dogs as positive that are not currently undergoing treatment following their diagnosis.

The clip show baby heartworm microscopicly
Did you know heartworm disease is transmitted by mosquitoes and can cause serious damage to a dog’s heart, lungs, and blood vessels? As shown on the map, heartworm cases are reported across the United States, with particularly high incidence in many areas of the South.

Prevention is key! Monthly heartworm preventatives and routine testing are essential to protecting your pet. Even dogs who live indoors can be at risk, as mosquitoes can easily find their way inside.

We’re so proud of this brave boy and the others currently undergoing treatment, and we are cheering them on throughout their treatment journeys.
