The Barking Banjo is looking to add a Bather/Grooming Assistant to our team! 🛁🐶✂️

We’re looking for someone who is:

✨ Reliable & punctual
✨ Comfortable working with dogs of all sizes
✨ Patient, gentle & hardworking
✨ Able to work in a fast-paced environment
✨ Willing to learn and take direction
✨ Someone who genuinely LOVES dogs! 🤍

Experience with dogs is preferred, but we’re willing to train the right person!

This position will include bathing, drying, brushing, cleaning, helping with dogs throughout the grooming process, and keeping the shop running smoothly.

🚧 The Barking Banjo is getting a facelift! 🐾✨

Our shop is officially under construction, and we couldn’t be more excited for what’s to come! While renovations are underway, we’re still grooming in a cozy temporary space right here on the property, so appointments will continue as scheduled with the same one-on-one care your pups know and love. 💛

In the meantime… just look at these sweet faces! 🐶🥹 We are so thankful for each and every one of our amazing clients as we work to create an even better space for you and your pups. We can’t wait to show you the finished shop!

The Barking Banjo is officially out of the shop Friday through Sunday!

I’ll be taking a much-needed break to recharge and spend some time away from the daily hustle. As much as I love all of my furry clients, this girl needs a few days to rest and reset. 🤍

I will return all phone calls, text messages, Facebook messages, and appointment requests when I’m back.

✨ Meet the Face Behind The Barking Banjo ✨

Hi, I’m Gabby, owner of The Barking Banjo Luxury Grooming Spa! 🤍🐾

With so many new faces here, I thought it was time to introduce myself again!

• I’m 26 years old.
• Originally from Goddard, KS, now proudly serving the Independence, KS community.
• I’ve been grooming professionally since 2023, after growing up working alongside my aunt in her grooming salon.
• Before grooming, I spent 4 years in veterinary medicine, where I gained invaluable knowledge caring for animals and understanding their health and behavior.
• My salon is one-on-one by appointment, meaning every dog receives my full attention in a calm, low-stress environment. No crowded daycare setting here—just a personalized experience from start to finish.

One question I get all the time is…

“Where did The Barking Banjo come from?” 🎶🐾

The answer is pretty special to me.

My business is named after my soul dog, Banjo… my sweet, spunky Border Collie who has been by my side through every step of this journey. She’s incredibly smart, full of personality, and… well… she’s definitely a barker! 😅 So, The Barking Banjo couldn’t have been a more fitting name. Every time you see my logo or hear my business name, you’re getting a little piece of the dog who inspired this dream.

When I’m not in the grooming salon…

🤎 You’ll usually find me outdoors, turkey hunting, fishing, hiking, or traveling.

📚 I’m a huge book lover and never pass up a good novel.

🐶 My life revolves around my own pups: Banjo, Lady, Babe, Della, and little Tippie. They remind me every day why I love what I do and why every dog that walks through my door deserves to be treated like family.

Thank you to everyone who has supported The Barking Banjo over the last 3 years!! Whether you’ve trusted me with your pup since day one or you’re just discovering my page, I’m so grateful you’re here.

My goal is simple: to provide a calm, luxury, one-on-one grooming experience where every dog leaves looking beautiful, feeling comfortable, and excited to come back.
