The purpose and mission of our organization is to save domesticated and privately bred Chincoteague ponies from abuse, neglect, or risk of slaughter, provide rehabilitation, and to find them safe homes or provide lifetime sanctuary. A dual purpose will also be to provide a safe sanctuary space for retirement (due to age or medical conditions) of Chincoteague Ponies from the feral herd owned and managed by the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company in Virginia, for Assateague wild horses from the Maryland side of Assateague, or other wild horses from coastal feral herds located on the eastern shore of the United States
