✨I am so incredibly proud of my Service Dog Idella! ✨

This week we took a family vacation to Florida, and she truly amazed me. Over the course of the trip she experienced airports, TSA, airplanes, beaches, restaurants, crowded tourist areas, mini golf, Busch Gardens, safari animals, alligators, monkeys, elephants, giraffes, escalators, a new house, an escape room, and countless new sights and sounds.

Through it all, she approached everything with confidence. She settled under tables at restaurants, ignored animals that most dogs would find exciting, navigated busy crowds, and continued to focus on me even in completely new environments.

Were there a few moments where she was startled or unsure? Of course. Training isn’t about perfection. It’s about building confidence and teaching our dogs how to work through new experiences and make good choices. What impressed me most wasn’t that she never made a mistake—it was how quickly she recovered and how willing she was to trust me when things felt unfamiliar.

Watching her grow from a puppy into the dog she is today has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. This trip reminded me just how far she has come.

Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up focusing on what still needs work, but this week I took a moment to appreciate everything she has already accomplished. She handled adventure after adventure with confidence, and I couldn’t be more proud of her.

✨Huge thank you to the TSA agents at Williamsport Airport for allowing us to practice with Idella today! ✨

They were incredibly kind, patient, and professional while we worked through the screening process.

Experiences like this are invaluable for helping dogs learn that new environments, equipment, and handling are nothing to worry about. Idella did an amazing job waiting, going through the process, and even enjoying a practice pat-down with a wagging tail.

Training isn’t just about obedience—it’s about building confidence through positive experiences. We’re so grateful for community members who help make that possible!

Building confidence isn’t about forcing dogs to “get over it” — it’s about giving them safe opportunities to explore, think, and succeed at their own pace 💙

Most “bad” behavior doesn’t come out of nowhere. 👀🐾

Dogs whisper long before they shout.

Lip licking. Yawning. Looking away. Sniffing the ground. Whale eye. Shaking off. These are all ways dogs communicate stress, discomfort, uncertainty, or a desire for space — and learning to recognize them can completely change the way we interact with our dogs.

Understanding body language is one of the most important parts of preventing reactivity, bites, and misunderstandings. A growl is not the first warning sign… it’s usually one of the last.

I recently completed another continuing education course on leash reactivity, and this body language chart was too helpful not to share! ⬇️

Today Idella joined me at the Lycoming County Fairgrounds fiber festival full of crowds, noises, strollers, and other dogs — and did an awesome job working through distractions and settling calmly.

Real-life training builds confidence, neutrality, and teamwork. That’s what I love helping dogs and owners achieve at Blessed Pups LLC ✨

Volunteers have been emailed 💻❤️
Signs have been posted around town 📍
Doggy goodie bags have been filled with love 🦴🐶

There’s SO much work that goes into preparing for this special day, but we truly love every second of it because we get to bring together amazing people and their wonderful dogs! 🐕🐾

Our incredible volunteers will be up bright and early tomorrow morning ☀️ setting up tents ⛺, arranging raffle items 🎟️, preparing dog games 🎾, welcoming vendors 🤝, and getting everything ready for a fun-filled day with fellow dog lovers! 🐕❤️🐕

We are beyond excited and can’t wait to spend the day surrounded by wagging tails, happy faces, and our amazing community! 🐾🥰
