While many people look forward to 4th of July firework displays, some pets often experience them very differently.
Loud noises, bright flashes, and unfamiliar activity can cause anxiety, stress, and fear in many animals. Some may hide, pace, pant, vocalize, or even attempt to escape.
A few ways you can help:
- Keep pets indoors during fireworks
- Provide a quiet, comfortable space
- Turn on a TV or play music to help mask noise
- Make sure collars and identification tags are up to date
If your pet struggles with fireworks season, New Moon offers a variety of supportive options that may help, including nutraceuticals, pheromones, and acupuncture. Every pet is different, and we're happy to discuss what may be the best fit for your companion. A little preparation can go a long way toward helping your pet feel safe this holiday weekend. ⏾
