Acupuncture tends to surprise people because it works in ways they didn't expect.
We use it here for all kinds of things: chronic pain, arthritis, nerve damage, digestive issues, anxiety, recovery after surgery or illness. But it's also something we offer to animals who are doing just fine, because keeping a healthy animal feeling their best is just as worthwhile as treating a sick one.
Most clients come to us thinking it's a last resort, something to try when nothing else has. And while it absolutely has a place there, that's not the whole story. Acupuncture works by stimulating specific points in the body to trigger the release of natural pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory compounds without the side effects that can come with long-term medication.
Dr. Shiela Henriquez is the kind of doctor who listens first. Acupuncture is her specialty, but she also sees wellness patients and brings that same integrative mindset to every visit, looking at the whole animal, not just the presenting issue.
If you'd like to learn more or schedule a consultation with Dr. Henriquez, we'd love to hear from you! đ
