We recently featured him, but our staff are so in love with this dog, that we wanted to feature him as our Dog of the Month for July! šŸ„°

Ace is a 2 year old heart throb and we just can't understand why he hasn't been adopted yet? šŸ¤” He's got that classic Husky personality at times, but most of the time he's a total lovebug. šŸ’ž He's good with other dogs but cannot live with cats or small animals. šŸ¾

We also have Penne, a gorgeous orange tabby who is our Cat of the Month of July! šŸ§” She's the perfect mix of sweet and spicy, and would make the perfect companion for any cat lover. šŸ„°

Meet Batman and Robin, two stunning Manx cats ready to leap into your heart (and maybe onto your windowsills). šŸŒž While their superhero names suggest theyā€™re a package deal, these two arenā€™t tightly bonded, so theyā€™re cool with flying solo. šŸ˜€

Batmanā€™s the more mysterious of the pairā€”cautious in new surroundings šŸ˜¶ā€šŸŒ«ļøwhile Robinā€™s got main-character energy and isnā€™t afraid to strut her stuff. They both bring plenty of purr-sonality to the table, with Robin being the bolder sidekick. šŸ±

Mental stimulation is essential for our dogsā€™ well-being, especially in their kennels. We currently have many large dogs but not enough large toys to keep them engaged.

Weā€™re in need of large and extra-large Nyla bones (or similar hard bones) and welcome donations of gently used toys. šŸ¦“ Donations can be dropped off during our open hours of Monday-Saturday from 11:30-4. Or they can be left by our front door if brought outside of our business hours. Every contribution helps keep our pups happy and healthy! ā˜ŗļø

Calling all Rottweiler lovers šŸ“£ Henny needs you. šŸ«µ

This beautiful 2-year-old girl has already been through more than her fair share. šŸ˜” Passed from home to home, sheā€™s never really had the chance to feel what itā€™s like to truly belong. Now sheā€™s safe with us at CGHS, but the kennel is no place for a dog like Henny. Sheā€™s smart, spirited, and full of lifeā€”and all that energy just doesnā€™t fit behind a kennel.

Henny would do best as the only pet, but trust usā€”her big Rottie heart is more than enough to fill a home with love. Sheā€™s waiting patiently for the family who will finally stay. šŸ„°

They may not have the long years ahead that a puppy or kitten mightā€”but their hearts are just as full, their love just as deep. These wise souls have known both joy and hardship, and all they want now is a quiet place to rest and someone to love them, completely and unconditionally. ā¤ļø

The beauty of bringing home a senior? They've already outgrown the chaos of the puppy or kitten stage. They're often already house-trained, well-mannered, and simply grateful for every soft bed and gentle touch. Itā€™s like skipping the toddler years and going straight to the calm, comforting companionship that makes a house feel like home. šŸ”

The Boy is on the lookout for a very special kind of loveā€”the kind that lasts. šŸ„°

At just 2 years old, he's already lost the one person who meant everything to him. After his owner passed away, he spent weeks curled up in hiding, too heartbroken to face the world. His little heart just couldnā€™t understand where his person had gone. šŸ’”

But slowly, day by day, heā€™s started to come out of his shell. Now, heā€™s beginning to accept gentle pets from our staffā€”quiet signs that he's learning to trust again. šŸ„° Heā€™s a bit of a loner with the other cats, but we have a feeling he wouldnā€™t mind sharing his space with the right feline friend. šŸ±
