Meet Benny and Toes, two 4-year-old orange hunks looking for a fresh start! 😍 These handsome brothers came to us when their owner was moving and couldn't take them along.

While they can be a little shy at first, once they settle in, their sweet personalities shine through. 💕 Benny and Toes have previously lived with a dog and did well, though slow introductions to any new furry family members are always recommended. 🐾

Although they don't have to be adopted together, they have been together their whole lives. Like most siblings, they occasionally bicker, but at the end of the day, they're still brothers. 🧡

💕 Nova is looking for her second chance. 💕

Nova is a beautiful 3-year-old Rottweiler with the biggest heart. She was first surrendered to us in 2024 after not getting along with her littermate. She was then adopted into what she thought would be her forever home... but after two years, she found herself back at the shelter through no fault of her own. Needless to say, she's a little confused and anxious right now. 💔

Nova is incredibly sweet and absolutely adores people. She can be a little shy when meeting someone new, so she'd do best in a calm, low-key home with a predictable routine. Once she feels safe, her goofy Rottie personality shines, and if there's water nearby, she's in heaven! 💦

Nova lived with cats previously, so she'd be okay living with a feline companion. We're giving her time to settle back in before introducing her to other dogs, so we don't yet know how she'll do with them. 🐾 Give us a call to hear more about Nova! ❤️ 518-828-6044

It's not all head bumps, wet noses, and tail wags- there's hard work too… But it doesn't get more rewarding than this.

• Animal Care Technician
• Adoption Counselor
Full-time and part-time positions are being considered, both seasonal and permanent.

We are looking for the following qualifications from all candidates:
• Open availability (7 a.m. – 8 p.m.), with weekends and holidays required (work doesn't stop with animals needing to be cared for). Shifts are normally 4-8 hours.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs. with frequent bending and effectively moving animals up to 150 lbs. in a fast-paced environment is required.
• Animal Care Technician positions involve animal care, cleaning, socialization, and other maintenance duties.
• Animal caretaking experience preferred for Animal Care Technicians. Office and computer experience preferred (MS Office required) for Adoption Counselor.

Pay is based on experience and qualifications with increases based on reviews done quarterly for the first year and annually thereafter.

Have you met this handsome gentleman yet? 😍 Brandon is an 8-year-old domestic shorthair with the most gorgeous face and the personality to match. 💞 This laid-back guy is searching for the perfect couch to call his own, where he can spend his days lounging, napping, and soaking up all the love he deserves. 🏡

While Brandon is mostly a relaxed, easygoing fellow, he still likes to surprise everyone with the occasional zoomie session. 🧶 He gets along well with other cats but tends to do his own thing, making him the perfect companion for someone who appreciates a low-maintenance buddy. 🐾

🍦 Love ice cream? Love helping homeless animals? 🐾 Then we've got the sweetest way to do both! 💕

Join us Thursday, July 9 at the Copake Lake Boat & Ski from 2–5 PM for a delicious fundraiser where 100% of all soft serve sales during those hours will benefit the homeless animals at the Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA! ❤️

We'll also have shelter merch, small raffles, and a shelter dog (or two!) stopping by to soak up the attention. 🐾

Rusty is a one-year-old Chihuahua with a huge personality and an even bigger heart! ❤️ Surrendered through no fault of his own, this handsome little guy is ready to find a family to call his own. 🏡

He's looking for an active home where he can play, snuggle, and soak up all the pets he can get. And kisses? They're his specialty. 😘 Rusty is a world-class smoocher and isn't afraid to hand out the French kind! 💦

He previously lived with other pets, but we're giving him a few more days to settle into shelter life before seeing how he does with other animals. 🐾 As for kids? Rusty would be thrilled, more people to love (and kiss)!

Dairy Queen - Ghent raised over $2,200 at their annual Shelter Day fundraiser to support programs and services for animals cared for by the Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA that are lost, unwanted, and/or victims of cruelty.

Shelter Day is hosted every year by the staff of Dairy Queen - Ghent. Since the inception of the event, Dairy Queen - Ghent has raised over $23,000 for CGHS/SPCA.

Did you know that your cat or dog can get testicular and breast (mammary) cancer just like humans? 🤔

The best way to reduce this risk is by spaying and neutering your pet. It also improves their health and helps control pet overpopulation. 🐾

CGHS has low cost spay/neuter services for both cats and dogs, and even male rabbits! The cost is even lower if you receive benefits from DSS, such as food stamps or Medicaid.

We can't believe Monster is still waiting for his forever home! 🤯

When Monster first arrived at the shelter, he was a little rambunctious, but he's come such a long way! 💞 With time, patience, and training, he's blossomed into quite the gentleman. He's crate trained, walks nicely on a leash, and is ready to show his future family just how amazing he is. 🐾 He'll benefit from continued training at home, so a home that has experience with dog training is best.

Monster would love a canine companion who can match his playful energy, but a home without cats is a must. Because of his size and enthusiasm, we think he'd do best with teenage-aged kids. 🤸‍♀️
