With intake in full swing, we are looking to recruit more fosters into our community so we can save more dogs just like Miss Bradley and Violet!

What fostering actually looks like - from our team with a collective experience of fostering almost 250 dogs 💚💙

No perfect home required. No experience needed. Just a little space, a lot of heart, and the knowledge that you’ve got a whole team behind you!!

We cover vet care, food and supplies. You provide a safe space for a dog and keep them out of the shelter.

If you’ve ever thought about fostering but talked yourself out of it, this one’s for you. 💙💚

This is what rescue looks like💙💚

It looks like the dogs who flinch when you reach for them. The ones who don’t know how to trust, how to rest, or how to believe they’re safe. It looks like our girls Violet and Miss B. Dogs carrying stories we’ll never fully know, but wounds we can see in the way they move through the world.

And so we do what rescue has always done. We show up. We stay. We move at their pace. We become their safe place.

We take in what the world has broken, neglected, abandoned, or forgotten, and we love it anyway. We love it patiently. We love it consistently. We love it until fear starts to make room for trust.

Not every scar disappears. Not every story gets rewritten overnight. But healing happens in the quiet moments. In the circles we make around them, the reassurance we give, and the promise that they won’t have to face the world alone anymore.

Our girls will be available for adoption really soon, so keep an eye out for their applications!

Since Violet and Miss Bradley are Caro’s Canines Rescue’s very first intakes, we wanted to post a reminder about the 3-3-3 rule for rescue dogs 💙💚

If you’ve ever fostered a dog who wouldn’t eat, drink, or even look at you in those first few days, it can feel really defeating. We have been there!

But, the 3-3-3 rule is a good reminder that decompression is key and all dogs will have their own process. A general guideline is 3 days to feel safe, 3 weeks to find a routine and 3 months to finally become themselves.

Violet and Miss B are already starting to come out of their shells, and we couldn’t be happier!!

Follow along as Violet and Miss Bradley find their footing!! Of their stories makes you want to open your home to a dog who just needs a little time, foster applications are open at caroscanines.com. 💙💚

SURPRISE! We have a second intake 🥰

Meet Miss Bradley!!! This baby girl was found covered in fleas and all alone living under a tree at a campsite. posted about her and we just had a feeling she was special. So… we took a chance on her when Rebecca offered to foster for a few months. She is SOOO incredibly sweet, very friendly, but a little shy at first. Miss B also loves other dogs (a little scared of big ones at first!) and has been a GEM in public. She just relaxes right by your side.

The vet thinks she’s about 6 months old and is going to be a BIG girl! We sent off her DNA test and can’t wait to find out what she is. She will be adoptable in a few weeks once she has her follow up at the vet and we confirm she’s all healthy.

We would love a donation to either the rescue or our Amazon wishlist to help Miss Bradley and her journey with us 💙💙 link in bio!

Darby girl is 6 today! Like many other former Houston street dogs, Darby’s life got off to a rough start. She was found by animal control and brought to Harris County Pets Animal Shelter. She had a broken hip that had healed incorrectly while on the streets, had likely had multiple litters, broken teeth from eating rocks and trash, and was heartworm positive. She had the odds completely stacked against her. But this sweet plain brown dog stole the heart of a shelter staff member who decided to take her in as a foster once she hit the euthanasia list. The staff member found a surgeon to repair her hip and got her treated for heartworms and showed Darby little by little what it meant to be a dog. Our board member, Claire, adopted her shortly after to give her other dog June a sister. Little did she know, they’d quickly become a bonded pair and be inseparable. Now Darby has her very own pack with two rescue sisters and a brother! She’s a tender soul who loves hard in her own special, unique ways. Her favorite things include her orange tug toy, watching tennis on TV, giving paw for scratches, and of course her best friend and sister June!

For Darby’s birthday, she is asking you to donate $6 to Caro’s Canines Rescue to help more dogs like her find their forever home :)
