🐾 Meet Asuki 🐾

This beautiful 10-month-old female tabby is still waiting for her forever home… and we’re honestly surprised no one has scooped her up yet.

Asuki is playful, sweet, and a little independent. She loves playtime (including secretly running on the exercise wheel when she thinks no one is watching 😄). She can be shy at first, but once she’s comfortable, her personality really shines.

She’s done wonderfully in a foster home with a Chihuahua—she even adored him—so she may do well with respectful dogs.

💔 Asuki was found as a tiny kitten in Colony Ridge, where stray dogs are everywhere and cat resources are basically nonexistent. Her finder reached out desperate for help, and we couldn’t leave her there. Now she’s safe and ready for a family of her own… but still no inquiries.
Grey tabbies may not get the hype gingers do, but this girl is truly special.

Percy is a sweet, resilient little guy with a big heart and a one-of-a-kind look. Rescued from a cruelty situation, he’s overcome so much and is now ready for a loving forever home.

Percy is missing most of his hair, but it doesn’t affect his health or happiness—just adds to his charm! He adores people, loves affection, and does well with other dogs, though he plays best with larger pups who can match his energy. 🚫🐱 No cats.

Rosie is a 4-year-old, 35-lb sweetheart who’s mastered the art of balance: she loves being outside on long “sniff-aris” 🌿 but is just as happy lounging with her people. Whether it’s couch snuggles, playtime, or quietly keeping you company during the workday, Rosie’s favorite place is right by your side.

She can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once you earn her trust, she loves deeply. Expect happy reunions complete with gifts (usually her food bowl or a shoe 👟) and plenty of chatter when she knows it’s walk time. Rosie is neutral with dogs she meets on walks, absolutely adores her current canine sibling, and would love a fur sibling in her future home. Cat compatibility is currently unknown.

💔 Meet Roscoe — still waiting for his person. 💔

Roscoe is a 3-year-old Shepherd mix with movie-star looks and the softest heart. At around 80 lbs, he’s a big, handsome guy—but inside? Total gentle giant. He lives for belly rubs, squeaky toys, and leaning his whole body into you like he’s afraid you might disappear if he lets go.

Once Roscoe trusts you, he’s all in. Wiggly. Loyal. Affectionate. The kind of dog who makes you feel chosen. He walks beautifully on leash, does great at the vet, and is smart and eager to learn with a little structure and guidance.

Roscoe would do best as the only pet in a calm, adult-only home. He can be selective with other dogs and is still learning to manage his excitement, and he appreciates having space when enjoying his toys—he just needs someone who understands him.

This sweet boy has already been through heartbreak. 💔
Roscoe was abandoned in March 2023, and he’s been waiting ever since for someone to see him for who he truly is: a loving, devoted companion who just wants a safe place to land.

He doesn’t need perfect.
He needs patience, kindness, and a forever home.
And he will give you everything in return.

WENDESDAY IS FOR OUR LONGEST WAITING DOGS (AND AN UNDERCAT)!!

It's no secret in rescue, some dogs come in and find their families almost instantly. Puppies, small dogs, fluffy dogs, their chances are incredibly high, and we love that for them.

But today, we want to shine a light on our Underdogs (and Undercat) the ones who have been waiting the longest. Some of these incredible souls have been with us for over a year, patiently waiting for someone to see them.

Just because a dog or cat is older, black, a bully breed, or needs to be the only pet in the home does not mean they have any less love to give. In fact, many of them have so much love just waiting for the right person.

And being an only dog doesn't mean a lonely life. Many of our longest-waiting dogs enjoy trail walks, are respectful around other dogs, and are absolute pros out in public, yes, even strolling the aisles of Home Depot like perfect pups. They're social, well-mannered, and happy to share the world they just want their home to be their own.

Please help us make this the year of the underdog. Share their stories. Talk about them. Open your heart to the dog who may not be the obvious choice but could be the perfect one for you.

Meet Duchess Vanta (“V”) 🖤🐈‍⬛
Black cats are magic, and V is proof.

V is an 11-month-old black beauty with a bold, bubbly personality and a heart of gold. She’s playful, confident, great with people (including kids), and happy to be the star of the show. She can live with other pets, but really shines when she gets lots of attention.

Once a teen mom who raised her kittens to happily-ever-after, V is now ready to be someone’s baby. She’s spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and transport is included in the adoption fee.

Black cats are often overlooked — but they’re loyal, loving, and full of personality. V is your lucky charm.

Meet Gale 🐶
Saved just in time, this sweet Staffordshire mix is ready for her forever home! Gale is about 60 lbs, listed as 5 years old (but we think she’s younger 😉). She loves other dogs, adores people, and after a few happy wiggles, settles in for calm snuggles. Gale has completed heartworm treatment and is healthy, loving, and so deserving of her happily ever after.

Today's dog who didn't get her Christmas wish, but hopes the new year brings a new family.

Meet Pepper — patiently waiting for a place to finally call home 💛

Pepper is a 3.5–4-year-old, 50-lb bundle of wiggles and happiness who has been overlooked for far too long. She’s been in foster care for nearly two years, and we truly can’t understand why. She’s loving, loyal, and full of life — all she wants is a family to love her back.

Pepper is very dog-social and, once settled, is one of the most solid dogs we’ve seen when meeting other pups. Like many dogs who’ve experienced uncertainty, she needs proper decompression and slow introductions to feel safe. In a new environment, she may be a little guarded for the first few weeks — but once she settles in, her sweet, silly personality absolutely shines.

And what a personality it is! Pepper is all smiles, wiggles, and affection. She loves being around her people and has so much love to give. She just doesn’t understand why no one has chosen her yet — and honestly, neither do we.

If you can give Pepper a little patience at the beginning, she’ll give you a lifetime of loyalty, joy, and unconditional love.

Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be highlighting the dogs who didn’t get their Christmas wish. While they’re still waiting, they’re hopeful the New Year will bring them what they’ve been dreaming of most—a loving home. 🐾✨

Meet Dakota! 🐾

Dakota is an adorable, petite Husky girl weighing about 45 pounds and estimated to be around 6 years old. Found as a stray in Houston, she’s had a rough start—but you’d never know it from her sweet, gentle personality and playful spirit.

Dakota has already completed heartworm treatment and is feeling better than ever! She loves to run, explore, and play, and she brings all the classic Husky charm in a smaller, extra-cute package.

This girl dreams of heading north, where she can enjoy cooler weather—and maybe even see that magical snow she’s heard so much about. ❄️

Dakota is currently in Houston, but transport is included in her adoption fee, so distance isn’t a barrier to her finding the perfect home. She’s ready to start her next chapter with a loving family of her own.

Adoption requirements:
• All current animals in the home must be spayed/neutered
