PUMPKIN'S HALLOWEEN MIRACLE! 🧡

Pumpkin came to our rescue in August 2025 after her owner became homeless and could no longer care for her.
And there she stayed… for over a year!

During that time, Pumpkin watched other cats arrive, find their families, and head off to their happily-ever-afters.
Now, Pumpkin has always been a bit of a diva. She wasn't particularly fond of other cats, and most of us humans were tolerated… at best. 😂

We developed a little game of seeing just how many pets Pumpkin would allow before we received her official reprimand. Let's just say affection was on a very strict schedule, and Pumpkin was in charge!

But we loved her. Diva attitude and all.

We waited for the right person to come along, someone who would appreciate Pumpkin for exactly who she is.

And then, this weekend, Halloween weekend of all weekends, someone chose HER! And wouldn't you know it? Pumpkin allowed him to hold her. Maybe she knew. Maybe she finally decided it was time to let someone else take charge (although we're pretty sure she'll still be running the household).

After more than a year of waiting, watching others go home, our Pumpkin has finally gone HOME!

And the best part? She's doing great so far!

Meet your new Best Pal, Snuggle Bug ❤️🐾

Snuggle Bug is an adorable, 4 month old boy with a beautiful brown tabby coat and an especially striking pattern that is hard to miss. Look close enough and you’ll notice he even has silver streaks, making his coat especially shiny!

Snuggle Bug is sweet, playful and friendly, with plenty of kitten energy and a personality that makes him easy to love.

Snuggle Bug and his best friend, Midnight, would be happy to find a home together, but they can also be adopted separately into homes with another pet to keep them company. Come meet Snuggle Bug and see if he could be your new Best Pal!

In honor of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals, Pastor Jessica Rivera-Walker of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church joined us at BestPals to bless the pets in our care. ❤️🐾

We are so grateful for our longstanding relationship with Pastor Jessica and her congregation. From their annual “God’s Work, Our Hands” volunteer day to choosing BestPals as a recipient of their “Noisy Offering”, their continued support helps bring the homeless cats and dogs in our care one step closer to their forever homes.

🐾 Adoption Update: Eb ❤️

Senior pup Eb came to us needing a second chance and a soft place to land. Six months later, we received this update from his new mom:

"Eb is doing so well. I think he has finally decompressed because he's wagging his tail so much more. He gets so excited when I get home, I swear he's smiling at me.

At night when he gets a little restless, I lay next to him and hug him, and it gets better. I am totally in love with this sweet, old boy. I wish we could have found each other sooner, but I'm so grateful for the time we have together." ❤️
