β¨οΈ Curtesy Post β¨οΈ
This is Storm. Storm is a 4yo cattle dog female.
Storm had a rough start in life and was taken on by a skilled and educated person. She is looking for a π‘!
She is in Lansing area!
Pros:
π Good on lead.
π Loves kids when she meets them (as young as 2yo)!
π Wonderful off lead (AFTER bonding period).
π GREAT loose in the house.
π No accidents.
π Knows heel.
π Was taught "Place" or "stay".
π Good with other dogs.
π Good with small dogs.
π Loves the car.
π Taught basic herding commands on a ball (and loves it).
π Taught down, sit, paw, heel, center and other commands.
π Very food motivated and familier with learning.
Noteworthy:
π Has not been around livestock, but shows interest.
π Has been around cats but requires careful and slow introduction.
π Has had no ecollar training.
π Is not spayed. (I was quoted just over $300 to spay one of my girls at a local vet recently. I would be happy to share that information.)
π Is crate trained, does not like it. She was left in a crate for days and days on end in her puppy home. It is unfortunately a negative experiance for her. With time she may become more comfortable, but a home that doesn't NEED to crate for long periods is prefered. If you are concerned about finding boarding her in the future should you need, I do offer a private, crateless board option here and she would be welcome.
π Was not socialized much as a puppy.
Cons:
β€οΈ Barrier frustration. She can be reactive on lead during walks. Sometimes she is perfect other times she lunges and barks. Same in the car.
β€οΈ Requires proper introduction to new people to feel comfortable. Starting with sharing space and being ignored, then slowly moving to play. This is very breed correct of her.
β€οΈ Can be people selective. She does not prefer tall men. However it sounds like again with the proper introduction she comes around.
The ideal situation for this girl would be on someone's property in tge country, in a home familier with this breed or other "sharp" breed. She could potentially be a great dog for a woman that is home alone often and would like a dog that just wants to be attached at the hip and would be a great deterrent for "unsavory" individuals.
I am happy to donate some training help and time to this dog and guide the new owner if need be!
Pm me and I will put you in contact with her current owner. :)
