With a lot of love, comes a lot of loss. When you open your hearts to so many dogs, it is inevitable that you will lose some along the way and unfortunately, when it rains, it pours and we have a few dogs that have crossed the rainbow bridge. Each dog pictured has held a special place in the hearts of all of Southpaw.
Pepkey, the beagle mix- Pepkey was a spunky old gal. At 17 years young, you would never guess her age. She would walk her laps around and revel in our attempts at bribing her to eat.
Nate, the lab- Big Nate Dawg as he was affectionately known was a powerhouse who loved to romp and play until the end. We know his brother, Duke, was waiting for him across that bridge.
Carra, the spaniel-Our resident Lizard hunter. When she wasn't busy flirting with the boys or laying in the sun, you could find her quietly hunting Lizards around the building.
Brooks, the corgi mix- Brooks was a tiny guy with a big attitude and heart. He tried to be tough but he was a mush underneath. We know his brother Charlie was waiting for him to be his protector once again
Remi, the big boy golden -Remi was a staff dog and hits extra close to home. He recently moved back to his favorite beach and spent all the time he could there. When he wasn't surfing the waves, he was in our pool lounging and getting all the pets and treats he could.
All of these dogs left their pawprint on our hearts. We are forever thankful for the love they gave us and we are thankful to the parents who trusted us with their care. Ours thoughts are with you all.

There was once a day, we could of never touched Gus, let alone give him a bath. Gus came to us very protective of his personal space. With patience and time, he has come to be one of the goofiest guys who loves a good belly rub and demands pets. It proves what time, love and patience can do for dogs and why Southpaw stands apart from other facilities.
