Fortunate to spend another weekend in upstate New York with some motivated folks trying to do the bite sports thing!

Grateful that they keep having me back and that they let me work all of my young dogs while I was up there. With some handling help from Katalyst K9- Working Labrador Retrievers we got four good sessions in with Sticks, Bravo, and Spur, and even tested and purchased another prospect dog along the way.

All in all, a solid weekend of training, good dogs, and good people.

Now back to weekday training 😂🐕💪

K9 Training Recap – National Guard Armory, Hartford with Katalyst Kennels

Training began at the National Guard Armory in Hartford with a variety of detection, patrol, obedience, and apprehension work.

* 9 environmental ball hunts inside the Armory for green dogs, incorporating stimulation and exposure to the building environment.
* 1 puppy biting session outside.
* 2 patrol dog tracks.
* 2 patrol dog article searches.
* 1 complete IGP 1 obedience routine.
* 2 indoor biting sets for young patrol dog prospects.
* 1 IGP 1 protection set.
* 1 indoor environmental exposure session for a puppy.

Following lunch, training moved to a new park location.

At the park, the green dogs completed 9 cold ball hunts, giving them additional repetitions working independent hunt behavior in a new outdoor environment.

A productive day with a good mix of foundational work for the young dogs, maintenance training for operational patrol dogs, and sport obedience/protection work.
