We are honored and excited to announce that Heather Isaacs is the newly elected President at the Wolfe County Animal Shelter! 🐶

Heather was highly recommended for this volunteer position and was accepted then voted in a couple weeks ago. She's been an active member of the Wolfe County community for many years and is an animal advocate. She is always helping animals in any way possible and her passion is obvious! Agents getting involved in the community is always something to celebrate, but especially something like this! Way to go Heather! ✨

Our county has the best search and rescue team! They help so many people, and volunteer their time helping and saving others. They also help us by volunteering at the shelter when they can.

Thanks Wolfe County Search & Rescue Team for saving the lost hikers and carrying out their doggy!

Wolfe County Search and Rescue responded to a call Wednesday evening for two lost hikers and their dog who were suffering from heat exhaustion.

We wanted to share how thankful we are that a small, local business makes dog cookies, sells them and then provides half of the proceeds to us!

Thank you Hop's for always supporting us! If you haven't visited Hop's, you definitely should. They are a fantastic farm to table restaurant in the RRG with delicious food and drinks. They even have cute ducks you can see that walking around. 💙🐾🙏🏻

Has anyone seen this dog? He went missing yesterday, August 9th around 6pm on 15 going towards Campton.

His name is Lucian, he weighs 60-65lbs. He is friendly but may be a little leery of strangers.

If you have seen him, or have any information please contact Laura Moughamian at 859-304-2636.

Please share, his family misses him very much. They have been out searching all day without any luck.

We cannot thank Teresa Stidham enough for this refrigerator. We needed one for vaccines for our dogs and puppies, and she immediately responded saying she had one for us!

We are in need of a small refrigerator (around 7.5 cu. ft.) to safely store vaccines and medications for the animals. Because space is limited, a compact size is best. If you have one in good working condition that you’d like to donate, or if you’d prefer to contribute toward purchasing one, it would make a big difference in helping the shelter care for the animals. 🚨Please SPAY & NEUTER your animals.🚨 Kentucky and the rest of the country are at all time high take ins, and everyone is out of space.

We get hundreds of calls and messages every single month for our county alone, and while we would like to help them all, we cannot. We have 12 kennels and, a waitlist and so many more that are left abandoned.

How can you help?
- Spay and neuter your animals
- Volunteer at your shelter
- Become a foster

Please be a responsible pet owner, you are not helping by not having your pet spayed or neutered. 🐾💙🙏🏻

In recent months, animal rescues and shelters across the country are reporting sharp increases in animals being surrendered, with several of those organizations telling CNN that financial hardship was at the root of those owners’ decisions.
