Animal Ark is a Minnesota-based animal welfare organization. We embrace and follow a no-kill philosophy in our work to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home Minnesota’s lost and homeless companion animals. With staff providing basic medical care and keeping of our shelter animals, a dedicated group of volunteers provides the next level of care, making the rehabilitation of these wonderful animals possi

ble. Our volunteers provide needed socialization for the companion animals living at the shelter, focusing on the needs of the individual animal based on his or her personality. Happy Adoption Day, Stache!

When tragedy struck and Stache lost his person in a car accident, Animal Ark opened its arms to this gentle soul. From the moment he arrived, our team was smitten by his calm demeanor and that unforgettable white mustache.

At 5 years old, Stache has never been one for drama, just cuddles, quiet companionship, and the occasional regal pose. He’s been a comforting presence in our shelter, and today, we’re overjoyed to announce that he’s found his forever family!

To Stache: thank you for reminding us that healing comes in many forms, and that love always finds its way.

Happy Adoption Day, Katana!

Katana’s story is one of resilience and new beginnings. She was found abandoned on the side of the road with her siblings, Kiki and Kona, but thankfully, a Good Samaritan stepped in and brought them to Animal Ark, giving them a second chance at life.

From there, Katana was placed in a loving foster home where she truly began to shine. She learned how to sit, come when called, and made great progress with potty training and crate time. Her foster family helped her build confidence, discover her playful spirit, and embrace her love for cuddles and companionship.

And now, the best part: Katana has been adopted! She’s found her forever home, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Her new family is already smitten, and we know she’ll continue to grow into the loyal, loving pup she was always meant to be.

Thank you to everyone who played a part in Katana’s journey. Here’s to a lifetime of belly rubs, adventures, and unconditional love.

Happy Adoption Day, Diesel!

Diesel came to Animal Ark when his previous owner could no longer care for him, but from day one, he stole our hearts with his goofy charm and endless affection. With his classic puppy attitude, Diesel never met a person, or pup, he didn’t want to be best friends with. Whether he was snuggling on the couch or chasing tennis balls in the yard, Diesel showed us just how versatile and lovable he truly is.

Diesel has officially hit the jackpot! He’s now living the dream with his forever family who instantly recognized the loving goofball we’ve all adored from the start.

Here’s to couch cuddles, long walks, and a lifetime of fetch. Happy life, Diesel!

We are currently at full capacity and have placed a temporary hold on all new animal intakes. If you need to return an animal that was originally adopted from Animal Ark, we are still accepting those intakes. While we wish we could help every animal, we must focus on the safety and well-being of those already in our care.

📞 Our phone availability will be limited as our team focuses on urgent shelter operations.

📬 Voicemail is still open and we’ll return messages within 48 hours. Thank you for your patience and kindness.

🚫 Please avoid surrender-related visits currently. We are unable to accommodate walk-ins or drop-offs; however, we continue to remain committed to allowing animals originally adopted from us back into the ark.

📝 Our waitlist is also closed until further notice. We’ll share updates as soon as we’re able to reopen intake.

Happy Adoption, Carrot!

We are absolutely ecstatic to share that Carrot, our sweet, cream-colored one-year-old boy, has found his forever home!

Carrot’s journey to safety happened in the blink of an eye. When a kind-hearted woman overheard his former owner threatening to put him outdoors unless someone stepped in, she didn’t hesitate. Thanks to her compassion, Carrot was surrendered and given a chance at a better life.

Though his past is a bit of a mystery, one thing is crystal clear: Carrot is full of love and energy! He’s playful, affectionate, and ready to offer a lifetime of loyalty to the family that believed in second chances.

Now, Carrot is curled up in a home where he’s truly wanted!

Happy Adoption Day, Clementine!

Clementine is a calico cat that was found braving the world on her own, doing everything she could to care for her four tiny kittens ; Cooper, Calvin, Cassie, and Cami. It wasn’t easy, but Clementine kept them safe, warm, and loved until Animal Ark stepped in to help.

As her kittens grew up and ventured into their own loving homes, Clementine patiently waited for her turn. And now, it’s finally here.

She’s a gentle soul who adores quiet moments, cozy naps, and soft pets. Though a little shy at times (life hasn’t always been kind), Clementine has blossomed with trust and tenderness in the warmth of indoor life.

We’re over the moon that she’s found a family to call her own, one that sees her for the incredible survivor and sweet spirit she is. Here’s to a lifetime of love, peace, and soft sunbeams.

Happy Adoption Day, Parker!

Meet Parker a sweet Boxer mix with a tan coat, floppy ears, and the kind of soulful eyes that say, “love me, please?”

Parker’s journey started in a scary place: wandering alone near Hastings, unsure of where to go or who to trust. But even then, this brave little guy believed in the goodness of people. And he was right.

From the moment he arrived at Animal Ark, Parker showed us his gentle heart and playful spirit. He’s a total people-lover and gets along great with other dogs (especially the ones who don’t mind sharing their squeaky toys).

He was placed in a loving foster home where he blossomed and now, that foster family has made it official: Parker is home. Forever!

We’re overjoyed for Parker and his new family. Here’s to a life full of belly rubs, playtime, and unconditional love!
