☀️🐾 Summer Heat & Your Pup: What You Need to Know! 🐶🔥

Temps are rising, and while we all love sunny days, summer heat can be dangerous for our furry friends. Here’s how to keep your dog safe and what to watch for:

🚫 Avoid Long Periods Outside During Peak Sun Hours
Limit outdoor time to quick potty breaks when the sun is strongest, typically between 11am–4pm. Opt for indoor playtime to keep your pup cool and safe!

🌳 Choose Shady Spots & Shorter Walks
A few potty breaks and some indoor playtime are better than risking heat exhaustion.

💧 Keep Them Hydrated & Never Leave Them in the Car
Make sure your dog always has access to fresh water throughout the day, and remember—parked cars heat up fast and can be deadly, even with the windows cracked. Never leave your pup inside, even for a short time.

🚨 Signs of Heat Stroke/Exhaustion in Dogs:

-Excessive panting or drooling

-Lethargy or weakness

-Bright red gums or tongue

-Vomiting or diarrhea

-Disorientation or collapse

🐾 If You Think Your Dog Is Overheating:

-Move them to a shaded or air-conditioned area

-Offer small amounts of cool (not cold) water

-Gently wet their paws, belly, and ears with cool water

-Call your vet immediately—it can be life-threatening
