Summer is here β and while we love the sunshine, it can be dangerous for our furry friends. Dogs can overheat quickly, and heat stroke can be fatal if not caught in time. πΆπ
π¨ Warning Signs of Heat Stroke in Dogs:
π΄ Excessive panting
π΄ Drooling or foaming at the mouth
π΄ Lethargy or confusion
π΄ Vomiting or diarrhea
π΄ Bright red or pale gums
π΄ Collapse or seizures
π Protect Your Pup:
β
Always provide fresh water
β
Never leave your dog in a parked car β even for a minute!
β
Avoid walking during peak heat (walk early morning or late evening) Protect their feet from hot surfaces too!
β
Offer shade and cool resting areas
β
Know your dogβs limits β flat-faced breeds (like bulldogs & pugs) are especially at risk!
π If you suspect heat stroke, act fast: move your dog to a cool area, wipe them down with a wet rag, offer small amounts of water, and contact your vet immediately! βοΈ
