😴🐾 Happy Lazy Mom’s Day from Koch Veterinary Services! 🐾😴
Today we’re giving a special shoutout to all the hardworking moms out there — including the dog moms, cat moms, and pet moms whose “lazy day” probably still includes feeding schedules, potty breaks, medication reminders, and sharing snacks with furry family members. ❤️🐶🐱
And honestly… if anyone has mastered the art of relaxing, it’s our pets. 🛋️🐾
They’ve perfected:
☀️ Midday naps in sunbeams
🍿 Relaxing while everyone else does the work
😴 Sleeping 14+ hours a day without guilt
🐶 Dramatic sighs when slightly inconvenienced
Maybe today we can all take a lesson from them and slow down a little. ❤️
Whether your perfect Lazy Mom’s Day includes cuddles on the couch, a quiet walk, or simply spending time with your pets, we hope you enjoy some well-deserved rest and relaxation today. 🐾✨

🍂🐾 September Pet Care Reminder from Koch Veterinary Services 🐾🍂
As we head into September, changing seasons can also bring changes in your pet’s health and routine. One important topic we like to focus on this time of year is weight management and exercise for pets. ❤️
With cooler weather approaching, many pets become less active — and even a few extra pounds can impact their long-term health.
Maintaining a healthy weight can help reduce the risk of:
🐾 Arthritis and joint pain
❤️ Heart disease
🩺 Diabetes
😴 Reduced energy and stamina
🦴 Mobility issues as pets age
Simple ways to help keep your pet healthy include:
🚶 Daily walks and playtime
🍽️ Measuring meals and limiting table scraps
🦴 Choosing healthy treats in moderation
⚖️ Scheduling regular wellness visits to monitor weight and body condition
Remember: healthy weight loss in pets should always be gradual and guided by your veterinary team.
September is a great time to refresh healthy habits for both pets and people as routines begin to shift into fall. 🍁🐶🐱
Koch Veterinary Services is here to help support your pet’s health every step of the way with preventive care, wellness exams, and personalized recommendations. ❤️🐾

🐾❤️ Pet Sitter Education Month ❤️🐾
Pet sitters play an important role in helping pets stay comfortable, safe, and cared for while their families are away. During Pet Sitter Education Month, Koch Veterinary Services wants to recognize the hardworking pet care professionals who help keep routines consistent and stress levels lower for pets at home. 🐶🐱
A knowledgeable pet sitter does more than provide food and potty breaks — they also help monitor for changes in health and behavior while owners are away.
Helpful things every pet sitter should know include:
📋 Your pet’s feeding schedule and medications
🚑 Emergency contact and veterinary information
🐾 Normal behavior versus signs of illness or stress
💊 Proper medication administration instructions
🌡️ Signs of overheating, pain, or emergencies
🐶 Safe leash handling and escape prevention
Before leaving for a trip, make sure your pet sitter has:
✔️ Updated contact information
✔️ Your veterinarian’s phone number
✔️ Medication instructions
✔️ Feeding and care routines
✔️ Information about allergies or medical conditions
Choosing an educated, attentive pet sitter can provide peace of mind for both you and your furry family members. ❤️
Koch Veterinary Services appreciates everyone who helps care for pets when their families can’t be home — your compassion and dedication truly make a difference. 🐾

🐾❤️ Animal Pain Awareness Month ❤️🐾
Animals are incredibly good at hiding pain, which means discomfort often goes unnoticed until it becomes more serious. During Animal Pain Awareness Month, Koch Veterinary Services wants to help pet owners recognize the subtle signs that a pet may be hurting. 🐶🐱
Pain in pets doesn’t always look obvious. Signs can include:
🐾 Slowing down or reluctance to exercise
🛏️ Sleeping more or changes in behavior
😔 Hiding or becoming less social
🍽️ Decreased appetite
🚶 Difficulty jumping, climbing stairs, or standing up
😠 Irritability or sensitivity when touched
🦷 Changes in chewing or eating habits
Pain can come from many conditions, including:
🦴 Arthritis and joint disease
🦷 Dental disease
🐾 Injuries
🩺 Chronic illness
⚠️ Undiagnosed medical conditions
The good news is that veterinary medicine offers many ways to help improve comfort and quality of life, including medications, weight management, rehabilitation, environmental changes, and other supportive care options tailored to your pet’s individual needs.
If you think your pet may be showing signs of pain, don’t wait to ask questions. Early intervention can make a significant difference in your pet’s comfort and overall well-being. ❤️🐾
Koch Veterinary Services is here to help your pets stay as happy, healthy, and comfortable as possible.

🐾⚖️ Is Your Pet Carrying a Little Extra Weight? Let’s Talk About It ❤️🐶🐱
At Koch Veterinary Services, we see how much love pet parents show through treats, snacks, and “just one more bite”… but even a small amount of extra weight can have a big impact on your pet’s health and quality of life. 🐾
Pet obesity is one of the most common health concerns we see, and it can increase the risk of:
🦴 Joint pain and arthritis
❤️ Heart and respiratory disease
🍬 Diabetes
😴 Lower energy and decreased activity
⚖️ Shortened lifespan and reduced quality of life
Extra weight can also make everyday activities harder for your pet—like walking, climbing stairs, or simply playing like they used to.
The good news? Even small changes can make a big difference:
🚶 More daily movement and playtime
🍽️ Measured meals instead of free-feeding
🦴 Healthy, low-calorie treats in moderation
🩺 Regular weight checks with your veterinary team
Weight loss in pets should always be safe and gradual, and your veterinarian can help create a plan tailored specifically to your pet’s needs.
If you’re unsure whether your pet is at a healthy weight, we’re here to help guide you—no judgment, just support and care. ❤️🐾
Koch Veterinary Services is committed to helping your pets live longer, healthier, and more active lives. 🐶🐱

🌿🐾 Happy National Holistic Pet Day! 🐾🌿
Today we recognize National Holistic Pet Day and the growing interest in whole-pet wellness approaches that consider nutrition, environment, behavior, and lifestyle in supporting pet health. ❤️
Holistic care can absolutely play a supportive role in a pet’s overall well-being, including:
🌱 Balanced nutrition and weight management
🧠 Mental stimulation and enrichment
🚶 Regular exercise tailored to your pet
🧘 Stress reduction and calming environments
🩺 Preventive care and wellness monitoring
However, it’s important to remember that “holistic” does not always mean appropriate as a replacement for evidence-based veterinary medicine. In many cases, conditions like infections, parasites, chronic disease, pain, or emergencies require proven medical diagnostics and treatment to keep pets safe and comfortable. ⚠️
Natural or alternative options should always be discussed with your veterinarian first, as some therapies may not be effective, may interact with medications, or may delay necessary treatment.
The best approach is often a balanced one—combining preventive veterinary care with thoughtful lifestyle support tailored specifically to your pet’s needs. 🐶🐱
At Koch Veterinary Services, we believe in caring for the whole pet while also ensuring they receive safe, effective, and medically sound care when it matters most. ❤️🐾

🍂🐾 Don’t Stop Heartworm Prevention This Fall! 🐾🍂
As the weather begins to cool down, many people assume mosquitoes disappear completely — but that’s not always the case. Mosquitoes can remain active well into the fall months, which means heartworm disease is still a risk for pets. ❤️
Heartworm disease is spread through mosquito bites and can cause serious damage to the:
🫀 Heart
🫁 Lungs
🐾 Blood vessels
Treatment for heartworm disease can be expensive, stressful, and potentially dangerous, which is why prevention is so important.
Year-round heartworm prevention helps:
✔️ Protect your pet continuously
✔️ Prevent gaps in coverage
✔️ Reduce the risk of missed doses during seasonal changes
✔️ Keep pets safer during unexpected warm spells
Even indoor pets are still at risk because mosquitoes can easily enter homes. 🦟
Fall is also a great reminder to schedule yearly heartworm testing and wellness exams to ensure your pet stays healthy and protected all year long.
Koch Veterinary Services is here to help you choose the best preventive care plan for your furry family members. ❤️🐶🐱

🌈🐾 Rainbow Bridge Day 🐾🌈
Today we honor Rainbow Bridge Day, a time to remember and celebrate the pets who are no longer physically with us, but will always remain in our hearts. ❤️
For many pet families, one of the most meaningful ways to reflect on this bond is by reading the poem “The Rainbow Bridge.” This gentle story paints a picture of a peaceful place where our beloved pets are restored to health, running freely and waiting for the day they are reunited with the people who loved them so deeply.
Reading the Rainbow Bridge poem often brings comfort, reminding us that the love we share with our pets doesn’t end — it simply changes form. 🐾
It’s okay to grieve, to remember, and to miss them. Those feelings are a reflection of just how deeply they mattered.
At Koch Veterinary Services, we understand how special every human-animal bond is. We are here to support you with compassion, care, and understanding through every stage of your pet’s life — including the most difficult goodbyes. ❤️
Today, we remember them all. 🌈🐾
