Continued “Place” work with Maia. This is only her second session with work on this new command and I think she’s getting it.

Maia, a 4.5 month old Doberman, is getting acclimated to all of the accessories she’ll need for her bike rides. During our morning walk she wore her goggles.

During today’s training we introduced Maia to a “Place” command. When completed, I’ll say “Place” and she go right to the cot and go into a “Down” position. This is useful in many different situations (guest at the house, when you’re eating and you want her out from under your feet, and so forth).

Sometimes my job is so rough 😂, I have to cuddle and play with dogs while acclimating them to new noises.

Maia’s going to have to be very confident around the sound of motorcycles so this morning we’re using the speaker during her obedience session.

No you’re not seeing things, yes I have goggles on Maia. She’s going to be riding on a motorcycle and has to get acclimated to them, motor noise, wind blowing in her face, and so much more. This is a good start and she’s doing great for day 1.

This is a complete 180 from when Mater was dropped off this morning. I don’t think that his owner had high hopes for him. He’s showing signs of improvement and already getting more confident.

Maia and Mater are from the same litter and owned by two separate families. Maia will be here this week for Day Training and Mater is just here for the day. They’re 4 1/2 months old and are a perfect picture of the Doberman. Sunset Ridge European Dobermans is a family owned breeder and you get nothing but quality dogs from them.
