Why we recommend regular dental cleanings.
This is a young adult dog with mild tarter for a routine dental cleaning.
We got a big surprise on his X-rays finding a root abscess of his lower molar.
This is a time bomb abscess because there is not very much bone in the lower jaw under this root. Abscesses in this location can result in a jaw fracture as the first symptom.
Thankfully it was found, the bad tooth extracted and he’s doing great.
