🇺🇸🎆 July 4th Holiday Safety Tips for Your Pets 🎆🇺🇸

As we prepare to celebrate Independence Day, don’t forget about your furry family members! Here are a few important tips to keep them safe:

🐾 Avoid Fireworks: The loud noises can frighten pets. Keep them indoors in a quiet, secure space.

🐾 Microchip & ID Tags: Make sure your pet’s microchip is up to date and they’re wearing a collar with ID, just in case they slip out.

🐾 Watch the Food: Many holiday treats are dangerous for pets — especially alcohol, chocolate, grapes, and onions.

🐾 Protect From the Heat: Keep pets cool and hydrated, and never leave them in a hot car.

🐾 Decorations Can Be Dangerous: Glow sticks, sparklers, and party décor can be choking hazards or toxic if chewed.

🌡️☀️ HEAT WAVE WARNING: Keep Pets Safe! 🐾

With extreme temperatures on the way, it’s important to protect your furry family members from heat-related dangers:

🚫 Never leave pets in parked cars
🥵 Limit outdoor time—especially midday
💧 Provide plenty of fresh, cool water
🌳 Walk dogs early in the morning or after sunset
🔥 Test pavement with your hand—it may burn their paws!

Signs of heatstroke:

Excessive panting or drooling
Lethargy or confusion
Vomiting or collapse

Staff at Clearview celebrated with Tori as she moves on to a new chapter in her veterinary career (vet school) she will be headed to St. George’s University. We will truly miss her but we wish her the best and are grateful for the dedication to our patients during her time with us.

As many of you know, each month we raffle off a gift basket and gift card at the clinic to highlight and bring awareness to rescue groups and other charitable organizations in our area. On our schedule for the month of June is a local cat rescue Heavenly Paws. This year, this fundraiser is even more meaningful to us, as one of their dedicated volunteers whom we at Clearview have all gotten to know and love passed away recently.

At the heart of every rescue organization, there are a few rare souls whose dedication and compassion shape the lives of both animals and humans. This month, we honor the memory of one such extraordinary person, Debbie, a kind, caring and selfless volunteer whose presence at Heavenly Paws was a guiding light and whose passing has left a void in our hearts. Debbie devoted countless hours to caring for cats- offering not just food and shelter, but comfort, trust and love. Debbie’s warm heart made all the difference. The cats knew, and so did we.
