The countdown is on! In just TWO DAYS, Animal Friends Humane Society will be joining the 4th Annual Oxford Masonic Lodge car show, and we can't wait!

Come spend the day surrounded by incredible cars, live music, great food, and of course... ADOPTABLE DOGS & CATS! ❤️

We'll have our Petmobile packed with adoptable pups & cats from 3–7 PM, all hoping to meet their forever families. Could your new best friend be waiting for you?

Our foster homes are full, and we have multiple kitten litters here at Animal Friends Humane Society waiting for a safe, loving place to grow up. That’s where YOU come in! 🏡

Many of the kittens coming through our doors right now are sick with upper respiratory infections (URI). We provide all medications needed to help get them healthy and we’re looking for fosters who are comfortable giving those medications. Don’t worry, it’s easier than it sounds, and our team will walk you through everything!

These babies can’t wait. If you’ve ever thought about fostering, NOW is the time. 🐾

🐾 TNR PAPERS ARE OUTSIDE AND READY TO GO! 🐾

Wow, we had a line at the door at 5:00 PM, which means only 9 spots are left! 🏃💨

If you need a spot for your community cats, we highly suggest coming out and grabbing your papers **TONIGHT** to secure your slot. Once all the papers are gone, the slots are officially filled.

⚠️ IMPORTANT DETAILS:

📄 No Form, No Surgery: Papers will be outside until 8:00 AM. If you do not have a TNR form in the morning, you will not get a surgery spot. Please plan accordingly!
🐱 Limit: 2 cats per person.
💵 Cost: $40 (due at the time of drop-off).
🪪 Requirements: You must bring your ID, and all cats **MUST** be in a proper trap.
⏰ Drop-Off Time: 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM tomorrow.

🐾💙 Tuesday Tail Wagging Pupdate 💙🐾

In 2023, this family fostered Nori — formerly known as Chipmunk — along with her siblings through Animal Friends Humane Society. From the very beginning, Nori fit perfectly into their family, and they quickly realized she was meant to stay forever. ❤️

Since then, Nori has become an amazing foster mom to so many puppies from AFHS. 🐶 She loves playing with them, helping teach them how to be dogs, and making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while they wait for their forever homes.

Nori also absolutely adores cats and is just as gentle and sweet with them. 🐱 Her patience, loving personality, and nurturing nature truly make her one special girl.

Her family says they are incredibly lucky to have Nori as part of their lives — and we couldn’t agree more! 🥹💕

Thank you for giving Nori the wonderful life she deserves and for continuing to help so many other shelter pets along the way. 🐾

❤️ It's National Microchipping Month

For just $20 and no appointment needed, you can give your pet a permanent form of identification and their best chance of finding their way back home. Just come to the shelter during open hours!

🐾 How Does Microchipping Work? 🐾

One of the most common questions we hear is, "Does it hurt?" or "How does a microchip work?"

Here's the process:

✅ A tiny microchip, about the size of a grain of rice, is placed just under your pet's skin between the shoulder blades.

✅ The procedure takes only a few seconds and is similar to receiving a routine vaccine.

✅ The microchip does not have a battery or GPS. It cannot track your pet's location.

✅ Each microchip contains a unique identification number that can be read with a special scanner.

✅ If your pet is found and taken to a shelter or veterinary clinic, staff will scan for a microchip and use that identification number to contact you through the chip registry.

📌 The most important part of microchipping is keeping your registration information current. If your phone number or address changes, be sure to update your microchip account.

🐶🐱 Stop by the shelter during open hours to get your pet microchipped!
