Meet Willow – A Quiet Survivor Ready for Her Moment 🐈‍⬛💓

Some mothers give everything they have… and then somehow find a way to give even more. That’s Willow.

Willow is a beautiful two-year-old black and white girl who came into foster care with her six tiny babies, all of them battling upper respiratory infections. It was a tough start—everyone was feeling miserable—but Willow never stopped showing up for her little ones. Despite not feeling well herself, she poured every ounce of love and care into her kittens, keeping them safe, warm, and comforted through it all.

Thanks to proper medical care and a whole lot of resilience, Willow and her babies have made a full recovery. Her kittens are thriving—and now, for the first time, it’s Willow’s turn.

This sweet mama is a fairly shy lady who prefers a gentle, patient approach. Go slow, and you’ll see her soften. She doesn’t demand attention, but she quietly welcomes it, leaning into kindness once she feels safe. There’s something incredibly special about earning the trust of a cat like Willow—it’s a bond that feels truly meaningful.

While she’s been a devoted mother, Willow is ready to discover life beyond motherhood and shelter walls. She deserves a peaceful home where she can continue to blossom at her own pace, where soft voices, calm moments, and gentle affection help her become the confident, happy cat she’s meant to be.

If you have a quiet home and a kind heart, Willow may be waiting just for you. 🏠

Come meet this brave, beautiful girl and give her the fresh start she’s earned. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🐈‍⬛

Happy Foster Friday! 😸 Mina is here to remind you that although she has an amazing foster home she is still looking for her FUR-ever home.

Since entering foster care, her personality has absolutely BLOSSOMED! At the shelter she was standoffish and grumpy most of the time. Now she loves attention, being brushed, and treats.🪮

Mina may do best in a home where she can be the only cat, but her fosters have reported that she’s done well with her current foster kitten siblings. ❤️

If you or someone you know is interested in adopting Mina, please contact us at 513-737-7387 or fill out an adoption application using this link: https://aafpets.org/adopt

This past weekend left us with some heartbreaking news and today we want to spread some awareness about the importance of annual vaccines and routine medical care.💉

Recently we got a call from another shelter that one of our feline alumni had been found as a stray and their microchip led back to us. Upon arrival back at the shelter we combo tested them to check for FIV and FeLV, like we do every feline who enters our facility. It was then that we made the heartbreaking discovery that this sweet baby was now Feline Leukemia (FeLV) positive.💔

FeLV is an aggressive virus that is fatal in cats, there is no cure. A cat diagnosed with FeLV typically has an average life expectancy of only 2-3 years.

When this cat was adopted from us they left the shelter with a negative combo test and up to date on vaccines including Rabies, FVRCP, and FeLV. Once adopted, this indoor cat was left outdoors by what was supposed to be their forever family and not kept up to date on vaccines. Negligence in getting this cat annual vaccinations led to a life changing diagnosis that is now irreversible.

Please keep your pets up to date on necessary vaccinations and help us spread the word about the importance of routine medical care!

Happy Tails Monday! 🐾💕

We’re celebrating FIVE wonderful adoptions this past week!

First up is Pepper, a 13-week-old brown tabby boy who spiced things up just long enough before finding his forever home. 🌶️🐱

Next, we have Night Sky, a 13-week-old black kitten as beautiful and mysterious as her name, now shining bright in her new family. ✨🌙

And last—but certainly not least—is a very special trio: sisters Bloom, Mallow, and Willow. At 16 weeks old, these sweet girls have cerebellar hypoplasia (also known as “wobbly kitten syndrome”), which just means they move through life with a little extra wiggle. 💕

We are beyond thrilled to share that all three were adopted together by one of our very own kennel staff members! It takes a special heart to open your home to these girls, and we couldn’t be happier knowing they’ll be so loved and understood. 🏡💞

Five adoptions, five happy endings—and one incredible reminder that every pet deserves a chance, no matter how wobbly their path may be. 🐾
