Today we showed at colfax iowa, we had a very successful showing we are just starting to get into 6 class with Californians for our county fair, Netherlands dwarf we picked up some bovs and bogs, mini rex show A we won best opposite of breed with smokin Rose's scorpio who we have use quite a bit in our program with co breedings our Californian swept the breed in show A with hera taking best and Zeus taking opposite of breed show B smokin roses scorpio took best of breed and smokin roses horoscope (scorpio's daughter) got best opposite of breed, the Californian swept the breed again but the switched Zeus was best hera was opposite but wait! We aren't done! Scorpio got best 4 class for show B then Zeus got best 6 class for show B they went against each other for best in show with scorpio winning we are still on riding the high :) what a fun filled day

We have a very promising black otter doe (Cedar River's Heaven x SR's GC Eligible Rowling) and a castor buck (MR's Willie Nelson x Ringer's June Carter Cash) growing out that were born in early March.

Cedar River's GC Hazel 3.0 (Black) x REC's Not Your Mother's GC Eligible Stanley (black otter) have a black and black otter in the box. These are our first viable Stanley babies and we are beyond excited to see them grow.

Charm Farm's Izzy (chestnut) x Starr's Steelin Time (Steel) have a lone steel kit in the box. Our first viable steel baby and we love it!

QB's Mississippi (Chestnut) x Starr's Steelin Time (steel) have a steel and a chestnut in the box.

Charm Farm's Noel (broken blue) x Charm Farm's Duke (blue) have 4! One blue, one broken blue (Charlie), and 2 REW.

QB's Liberty Bell (Himi) x QB's GC Thunc (Himi) have 3. All himis. One is a peanut.

A lot of the ones on this list are first time mamas so we will see how it all goes.

The next round of breeding is already in the works. Excited for what's to come :-)

Spring has sprung. New litters are set to arrive. Grow outs are growing. And cages are full. This means we have some buns looking to hop!

Current sweep points have been posted. Points are accumulated thru June 30 for this year. Below are the kids current points. They have both put in a ton of work in the last year really working on herd improvement and we love seeing their hard work pay off. It's also exciting to see some of our best rabbit friends up there in the top with us!

Very tough field today but we were happy with results and comments! Bentleys Himalayan Netherland dwarfs are really taken off! Bentley won show A with bullet today! Congratulations to all the breed winners :)

We have had quite a few people reach out looking for 4h bunnies! Please continue reading if this is you!!!

*First and foremost... If you are one of our mentor kids, you WILL have at least one rabbit to show. Some of you older kiddos could easily have 2-3 if interested. If you are not yet a mentor kid, but would like to be, please reach out ASAP! WE will begin practicing at the beginning of March!

*We will be working this week on getting pictures of the ones we have available now. We also have a list of breedings happening in February and March so more should be available throughout the next couple of months. Please be watching for pictures to be added to the "looking for new hay" album!!!

*Please remember that we are youth operated and adult funded. That means, our 2 teenagers do 90% of the work. They are both very busy right now with sports and school, so things may be a bit delayed. Please be patient :-) we are doing our best!

*We breed the following colors...

Netherlands:
Self (Black and REW), Otter, Chestnut, Steel, Himi, Siamese Sable, and Broken

Mini Rex:
Self (Black and REW), Otter, Castor, Opal, Tort, Broken

We may not always have all of those varieties available all the time! We often only breed for certain colors once or twice a year. We also never know how a litter will turn out, so we can't just guarantee anyone a rabbit.

That being said... if you are looking for something specific, please reach out with exact details. If we don't have it, we may know of a breeder that does. Otherwise, stay tuned for photos in our album

** On another note... We realized that we haven't updated pictures of our herd in a while. Oops! Lots have changed. We will be working on updating that this week as well and will be separating it into show team and brood stock. We will be posting a list of planned breedings as well for those interested in following along.

We showed in Eldridge iowa today at the artic adventure quinn had jazz so Bentley did the work today most of our buns were molting and coats werent in prime but still have great comments on our juniors but the star of the show for us was our little hemi buck DC he took home two best of breeds today

This morning during morning check, we realized that our herd suffered a terrible loss. Our best castor doe, GC Eligible Ringer's Patsy, passed away throughout the night.
She shows no signs of injury and no clear indication of what happened. We are all heartbroken.

We just sold one of her daughters to a family in Pennsylvania, we have one of her daughters that will show thru spring and then join the breeding program, and she left us with a litter of 7 week old kits (3 does and one buck). Hoping her legacy can continue to live on.

This loss hurts. She was an amazing mama, fostered anything we gave her (even a kit a week younger than her litter), and was the absolute sweetest girl. The barn will definitely feel a bit empty without her.
