When SJ isn’t being used as one of our herdsires, he occasionally joins our show string! It’s nice to have a male so versatile that can be used in just about everything and be successful. This past weekend at the Iowa State Fair, SJ and our good friend Londyn Rubek were awarded 1st Senior Showmanship, Grand Champion Senior Performance and Reserve Grand Champion Heavy Wool Male!

He’s already a proven herdsire, but he has 2 crias due this fall by some of our best females so we are anxiously awaiting their arrival in the coming months!

If you haven’t attended the Indiana State Fair you’re missing out! Lisa and her crew do a great job with the show. Was told it’s the largest ILR show in the country so far this year. We were without our travel companions and so we hauled ourselves for the first time and without Lisa being so helpful and accommodating we would not have been able to attend.

We took 4 animals and were extremely pleased with how they did. Cheyenne posted her own results so we will post about our crew only.

We had a great time at the Lamapoolza show held in Austin, Minnesota! We took 9 animals and were very pleased with the results. As always Cheyenne will post her own results. Thank you to Julie, Kim, and all their helpers for a great show! Also thank you to judges Stephen Fritz and Issac Beck!

With all the warm weather we are having we had to shear off some extra hair, as I’m sure more people have had to do to keep their critters cool.

Leia is an EXTREME heavy wool and as much as we love all that fluff, her front “curtain” (as we call it) was very thick and heavy making her very warm. So in preparation for the weather this week, we sheared it off. And I think she pulls it off great!

The boys were busy this spring/early summer! With the heat we haven’t been able to test to get 4 spit offs like normal on most of these, but fingers crossed everyone stays bred! Some had 3 spit offs then laid down earlier in the season. 🙃 Will have everyone ultrasounded at some point before our fall season.

You could say I’m a little obsessed. 😍 Wish she was going to be old enough to show this fall, but unfortunately she cooked a little too long. Oh well we are just super excited about her.
