This is Noodle, she is only 12 weeks old, but she’s already lived through quite the story.
A good Samaritan found her in the middle of the road — his truck was literally straddling her. When he peeked underneath, her tiny head lifted up. 💔 She was overheated, panting (which can be very dangerous for cats and a sign of severe distress), and in rough shape when she came to us.
After some time in our oxygen tank to stabilize, we took X-rays and discovered she had a completely broken tail (not even connected to her spine), a blown knee, and even something metallic in her stomach. Based on those X-rays, we weren’t sure if she’d ever be able to control her bladder or bowel movements.
One of our team members took her home for the weekend, and to everyone’s surprise… she used the litter box like a champ, was eating, drinking, and being the playful kitten she wanted to be — even if she limped and dragged her tail behind her (hence how she got her name)
After many discussions (and a call to our friends at On the Spot, an orthopedic surgeon in Central Ohio), the plan was set. Her tail was removed, and her leg was pinned back together. And guess what? Noodle is already walking, trying to run, and showing off her s***ky spirit. 🐱✨
Best part? She’s already found her furever home! A vet assistant at On the Spot fell head-over-heels for her during surgery and adopted her. 💕
It’s stories like Noodle’s that remind us why we do what we do — and why we work so hard to keep adopting out our kittens to loving homes. 🏡🐾
