🐾✨ Meet Koda – one of our FurWell favorites and quite the famous FurWell clinic cutie!

Koda has been part of the FurWell family since she was just a tiny pup, and we’ve loved watching her grow into the beautiful, confident girl she is today. 💜 From puppy snuggles to big-dog adventures, she’s always brought joy (and those unforgettable ears!) to every visit.

We’re extra proud to share that Koda was recently featured as Ms. October in an adorable 2026 pet calendar her parents gifted us – and we think she totally stole the show. 📸

Here’s to Koda, our superstar and calendar queen! Hoping she gives us a "pawtograph" the next time she's in to see us! 👑🐶

Proudly privately owned and AAHA accredited, because we believe your pet deserves the gold standard of veterinary care.

🥳Happy 35th Birthday to our amazing Chief Operations Officer, Dannon! 🎉

She’s the writer of the protocols, the manager of the staff, and truly the glue that holds it all together. 💛 From keeping our team running smoothly to ensuring all the details within the clinics are cared for, Dannon is a big part of the heart of FurWell.

We are so grateful for her leadership, dedication, and the love she pours into everything she does. Today, we celebrate her! 🥳

Please join us in wishing Dannon the happiest of birthdays! May this year bring joy, laughter, and all the good things she deserves! 💐🎂🐾

💛🐾 Seth Loves Dr. Barr! 🐾💛

This handsome little Dachshund, Seth, came in for a visit today showing off the cutest sign around his neck — proudly declaring his love for Dr. Barr! 🥰

At just 3 years old, this Black & Tan cutie already has a big personality to match those short legs and soulful eyes. He had the whole team smiling with his charm (and his sweet message)!

We think Dr. Barr feels the same way, Seth 😉🐶💕

Why Anesthetized Dental Care Matters for Dogs & Cats

When it comes to your pet’s oral health, a true dental procedure isn’t just about cleaning teeth, it’s about protecting their overall health and quality of life.

What anesthesia allows us to do during a dental procedure:

* Perform a complete oral exam, including under the gumline where most dental disease hides.
* Take full-mouth dental X-rays to detect bone loss, tooth root problems, and hidden infections.
* Safely and thoroughly clean all surfaces of the teeth **not just the visible crowns** and polish them to slow future buildup.
* Extract diseased or painful teeth when necessary, keeping your pet comfortable and healthy.

Why anesthesia-free “dentals” don’t cut it:

* They only scrape tartar off the surface of visible teeth.
* They can’t address periodontal disease below the gumline — where over 60% of dental disease actually occurs.
* They give the illusion of a “clean” mouth, but it’s purely cosmetic and leaves the real disease untreated.

The bottom line:
Anesthesia-free cleanings may make teeth *look* better, but they don’t make your pet *healthier*.

True veterinary dental procedures are a medical service that can add years to your pet’s life by preventing pain, infection, and systemic illness.

👉 When investing in your pet’s care, the smart choice is to put your money where it makes a medical difference — with comprehensive, anesthetized dental services that protect your pet’s health from the inside out.

This week we saw a patient whose teeth looked perfectly healthy on the outside. But once we took dental x-rays, they revealed severe bone loss and infection hiding beneath the surface — something you’d never catch with an ‘anesthesia-free’ cleaning.

🦷Why Dental X-Rays Matter for Pets🦷

Today we had a pup in for a routine dental cleaning. At first glance, everything looked pretty normal, just some tartar and healthy-looking teeth. But at FurWell, part of every dental cleaning includes full mouth radiographs.

Why? Because what we see on the surface isn’t always the whole story.

On x-ray, we discovered major bone loss caused by dental caries (essentially, cavities). This would have gone completely undetected without x-rays, as the tooth looked absolutely fine from the outside!

This is exactly why we do what we do:
✅ We don’t just clean teeth for cosmetic reasons.
✅ We look beneath the surface to protect your pet’s long-term health.
✅ We make sure every pet receives the best medical care possible

💡 Here’s the truth: in the vast majority of pets, dental disease starts below the surface, where you can’t see it.
That’s why dental x-rays are essential for truly protecting your pet’s health.
Your pet deserves more than a bright smile, they deserve a healthy mouth and a healthy life. 💙🐾

🐾Meet Dr. Whites first patient from this lovely Monday morning - the beautiful Jewelz!

This almost 4-year-old Australian Shepherd sweetheart came in today for her annual exam to make sure she’s fully protected and healthy. We updated Jewelz vaccines and also took a small blood sample to have her comprehensive tick panel and heartworm screen sent to the lab. These proactive steps help ensure Jewelz stays safe, healthy, and full of life for many years to come. 💕

We even asked Jewelz if she’d like to be our official FurWell mascot… but she politely declined — apparently her schedule is already packed with squirrel patrols, neighborhood watch shifts, and quality nap time. 🐿️👀💤

We’re so grateful to Jewelz’s family for trusting us with her care and proud to work with such a sweet patient! 🐶💙

💖 Sweet Rita was in again for her recheck and a little extra TLC from Dr. Simpson and our amazing tech, Ray.

This spunky little lady may face big challenges with CHF and a collapsing trachea, but her resilience (and diva spirit!) shine through at every visit.
A huge thank you to her incredible support team and for the abundance of love and dedication that is poured into Rita’s care.🐾💜

Meet Eddie & Ernie!

These two sweethearts were rescued from a storm drain and are already proving to be little fighters with big hearts. 💕
Today, they came in for their very first vet visit and had Dr. White wrapped around their cute little paws within minutes.

Rest assured, lots of kisses and whispered "I love you's" were given.

Today, the FVRCP vaccine series was started for these brave boys.

An FVRCP vaccine is a core vaccine that helps keep your cat healthy by protecting against three serious diseases:
• Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis & Calicivirus – common causes of “kitty colds” that lead to sneezing, runny eyes/nose, and mouth sores.
• Panleukopenia (feline distemper) – a dangerous virus that can cause vomiting, diarrhea, and can be life-threatening.

We also sent them both home with NexGard COMBO to keep them protected against fleas, ticks, Heartworms, and common intestinal parasites (roundworms, hookworms, and tapeworms).

We’re so excited to watch these kittens grow strong, healthy, and ready to enjoy their second chance at life. 🐱🐱💙

Let’s give Eddie & Ernie a big warm welcome to the FurWell Family!

Last week, Kody’s mom shared a sweet video of them practicing at home to get ready for his weigh-in. Today… all that practice paid off! 🙌

Kody bravely stepped right up on the scale at FurWell and Bre was sure to step in to catch this winning moment on video! 📹💙 Moments like these remind us how important patience, positive reinforcement, and teamwork are when helping our pets succeed.
