As we continue to welcome spring, it’s important to be mindful of festive plants that may pose serious risks to our pets. Many popular blooms—including lilies, tulips, daffodils, and more—can cause everything from mild stomach upset to life-threatening kidney failure, seizures, and heart issues.

This quick reference guide highlights 7 common Spring and Easter plants that are toxic to pets, along with their clinical effects and recommended treatments. If you suspect your pet has ingested any part of a toxic plant, seek veterinary care immediately—early treatment can make all the difference.

Keep your pets safe this season by decorating with pet-friendly alternatives and keeping dangerous plants well out of reach.

Last week, Lily (the adorable Bichon Frise) came in expecting nothing but some serious belly rubs from Dr. Simpson! 😀🐾💕

Dr. Simpson did his best to conduct a proper exam, but Lily had other priorities—and honestly, we respect that. 😌

Safe to say she passed her wellness check with flying colors and a full heart. 🩺💖

🌟 Help us welcome Meaghan to the FurWell family! 🌟

We’re thrilled to introduce Meaghan as the newest member of our Patient Advocacy team! With four years of experience in veterinary medicine, Meaghan brings curiosity, compassion, and a constant drive to learn—qualities we deeply value at FurWell.

After spending 4 years in the ARMY as a mechanic, she shares her life with Gunter, a charming 7-year-old Dalmatian she adopted while living in Okinawa (yes, she has a soft spot for spots!).

Outside of the clinic, Meaghan is an avid traveler who loves diving into new places and cultures. She’s also a proud collector of retro video game systems—if it’s pixelated and nostalgic, she probably has it!

We’re so excited to have Meaghan on board, and we can’t wait for our clients and patients to get to know her. Be sure to say hi the next time you’re in!

Say hello to Caramelo! 😻 This sweet guy was in yesterday for his annual services, and while he mostly tolerated our affection, he definitely had his eyes on us the whole time. Suspicious? Just a little. Adorable? Absolutely. 🧡

🐾 **FurWell Clinic Cutie Spotlight: Lupo!** 🐾

Meet Lupo (which means "wolf" in Italian!) — a 2-year-old Jack Russell Terrier who had his very first visit with us today! 💚

Lupo's journey hasn’t been easy — he was previously an outdoor dog who was sadly dumped and ended up at a shelter. But that’s where his story turned around. After being fostered, he found his forever home and a loving human who he’s now bonded with closely. 🥹

He’s still a little shy, but oh so sweet — and we can already tell he’s going to blossom with all the love and care he’s getting. We’re honored to be part of his next chapter and can’t wait to watch him thrive! 🐶✨

**Protect Your Pet from Heartworm Disease**

Heartworm disease is a serious and potentially fatal condition that affects dogs and cats. Transmitted through mosquito bites, this disease can lead to severe lung disease, heart failure, and damage to other organs if left untreated. The good news is that heartworm infection is almost 100% preventable. There are several FDA-approved heartworm preventives available in various formulations, including monthly chewable tablets, topical treatments, and injectables. Remember, consistent administration of preventives is crucial, as skipping or delaying doses can lead to infection. Is your pet up to date on their annual heartworm test and prevention?

🩺💙 **Sweet Moments at FurWell** 💙🩺

Our client and patient advocate, Sam, got some extra snuggles today from Oriole, a 4-month-old Bluetick Coonhound who stopped in for a visit for a big milestone—his big boy rabies vaccine! 🙌💖 💉 His mom took this adorable photo during his visit and we just HAD to share!

Oriole might be growing fast, but he’s still cute as pie 🥧 with those puppy-dog eyes, and a tail that never stops wagging. Sam couldn’t resist showing him a little extra love (and who could blame her?).

These are the kind of visits that make our day. 💕 We look forward to future cuddles with this adorable sweet pup and watching him grow!

🐾 **FurWell Clinic Cuties: Bridger & Koda Edition** 🐾

Meet Bridger, our sweet yellow Labrador who comes in regularly for acupuncture sessions with Dr. Ashlee Barr 💆‍♂️🐶. Whether it’s to ease joint stiffness or support his overall wellness, Bridger takes his appointments like a champ.

But what truly melts our hearts? His sibling Koda—an adorable yellow Lab/Great Pyrenees mix—comes along every time to offer moral support. 🥹💛

Koda quietly lays by Bridger’s side, keeping watch and occasionally checking in with a gentle nuzzle or tail wag. Their bond is nothing short of endearing, and watching the two of them together is a reminder of how deeply our pets care for one another.

We’re so grateful to care for this dynamic duo. 💫
