Compassion starts with caring for our team.

Beginning June 1st, all FurWell locations will begin our temporary summer hours schedule, with all locations closing at 4pm through the end of August. ☀️

Every year, we make this adjustment for one very important reason: our team.

Veterinary medicine is incredibly rewarding, but it is also emotionally, mentally, and physically demanding work. Our doctors, technicians, assistants, client advocates, and support staff pour their hearts into caring for pets every single day — often carrying the weight of difficult decisions, emergencies, long appointments, and emotional moments alongside the families we serve.

At FurWell, we believe deeply in work-life balance and protecting the people who make compassionate veterinary care possible.

These summer hours are one small way we can give our team a little more time to rest, recharge, spend time with family, and care for themselves the same way they care for your pets.

We are still happy to accommodate pet parents needing after-hours medication pickup or other special arrangements whenever possible — we simply ask for a little communication ahead of time so we can help.

Thank you for supporting not only your local privately owned veterinary team, but also the humans behind the medicine.

Your kindness and understanding help us continue building a workplace centered around compassion, longevity, and exceptional care. ❤️

Some pets leave paw prints everywhere they go… and sweet Emmy is one of them. 💙

This extra special FurWell Clinic Cutie stopped by last week for her annual visit, but Emmy’s story reaches far beyond our exam rooms.

Emmy is a certified therapy dog and proudly serves our Upstate community through Paws 2 Care and the national organization, Alliance of Therapy Dogs. For the past 3 years, she has brought comfort, calm, and joy to patients, students, residents, and staff across hospitals, schools, rehabilitation centers, assisted living facilities, businesses, and more.

With nearly 400 therapy visits under her collar, Emmy has helped countless people through stress, anxiety, difficult days, and healing moments — all with a wagging tail and a loving heart.

Her family shared:
“We're thankful to be Emmy's owners and for the love she brings to everyone she meets and for the excellent care she receives at FurWell.”

And honestly… we feel just as lucky to care for her. 🐾

Thank you, Emmy, for making the world a little softer, kinder, and brighter everywhere you go.

Help us show this amazing girl some love in the comments below! 💙

Rabies cases are continuing to rise across South Carolina and unfortunately, the Upstate is not being spared.

This is a very real public health concern affecting pets, wildlife, livestock, and people in our own communities.

Please take a moment to read this recent report and understand why keeping your pet current on their rabies vaccine matters so much.

Then take action.

FurWell Veterinary Hospital and Vet Near Me Greenville will be hosting a Community Rabies Vaccine Event on Saturday, June 6th from 9am–11am at 1240 E Butler Rd in Greenville.

Rabies vaccines will be offered for a minimum $5 donation benefiting Corona Muralis at Shepherd’s Field .

If your pet is overdue — or if you aren’t sure — now is the time.

A simple vaccine can protect your pet, your family, and our community.

Rabies cases are continuing to rise across South Carolina and the numbers are becoming difficult to ignore.

Recent reports from the South Carolina Department of Public Health confirm multiple rabid animals across the state, including raccoons, skunks, bats, cats, and even livestock exposures.

In several cases, people and pets were directly exposed and required medical intervention or quarantine. Greenville County alone has continued to see confirmed positive rabies cases involving bats, raccoons, skunks, and cats.

Rabies is not just a “wildlife problem.”
It is a fatal virus once symptoms appear — and it is actively being found in our communities.

That’s why FurWell Veterinary Hospital and Vet Near Me are urgently encouraging pet owners to take prevention seriously and we are here to help!

Join us at our Community Rabies Vaccine Event
🗓 Saturday, June 6
⏰ 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
📍 1240 E Butler Rd, Greenville, SC

We will be offering rabies vaccines for a minimum $5 donation, with proceeds supporting local rescue efforts for retired military working dogs.

This event is open to the public.

If your pet is overdue or if you simply are not sure when their last rabies vaccine was given, now is the time to act.

South Carolina law requires rabies vaccination for dogs, cats, and ferrets, but more importantly, it is one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect your pet, your family, and your community.

Please do not wait until exposure happens.
We are seeing more positive cases. More quarantines. More human exposures.

A simple vaccine can save lives.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

In observance of Memorial Day, all FurWell locations will be closed on Monday, May 25th.

We will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, May 26th at 8:00 AM.

As we spend time with family, friends, and the pets we love, we remember those who gave everything for the freedoms we enjoy each day.

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day.

Some days, it just clicks. 🧡

Dr. Dave Caldwell is fitting right in at FurWell on Brushy Creek Rd… and Ginger and Courage made sure to give him the full welcome committee treatment yesterday for his photo shoot. 📸🐾

Ginger came by for her annual exam and lab work, while Courage visited us for his very first appointment after adoption. Courage is currently heartworm positive, but he’s almost finished with his treatment and officially started his Lepto vaccine series and we couldn’t be more proud of the progress he’s making already.

One of our favorite things about Dr. Dave is how naturally he connects with pets and their people. Whether it’s a routine wellness visit or helping guide a newly adopted pet through ongoing treatment, he brings the same calm, thoughtful care to every appointment.

If you’ve been looking for a veterinarian who truly takes his time, listens, and makes your pet feel comfortable, Dr. Dave would love to meet you.

Pet insurance questions? We have a free resource you can use to navigate pet insurance!

We get questions about insurance every single day — and honestly, navigating pet insurance can feel very overwhelming.

That’s why FurWell has partnered with Pawlicy Advisor to give our pet parents an easier way to explore pet insurance options with confidence.

Because pet insurance companies are separate third-party providers, we wanted to offer a simple, free resource that allows you to compare plans, explore coverage options, and find what may work best for your pet and your budget, all in one place.

You can now access Pawlicy Advisor directly through any of our websites under the Resources tab!

✔ Compare pet insurance options
✔ Learn more about coverage and costs
✔ Explore plans based on your pet’s needs
✔ Make more informed decisions before emergencies happen

At FurWell, we believe clarity matters — and this is just one more way we’re working to make pet care a little less stressful for the families who trust us with their pets. 🩵
