Today and everyday thankful for first responders: Police, Fire, EMS, pilots, K9, yes the most famous fire cat in America and anyone with good intentions. For those who have helped me I’m forever grateful. To be your Veterinarian is why God put me on Earth. Not everyone likes attention, but Belmont, Chief, Gina, & Flame always welcome me with hugs, smiles, and open arms and I consider you family. From answering my calls, calling me on scene while they do CPR on an animal & their human, teaching me something I never knew, driving the ambulance, blocking traffic, assisting people and pets with CPR, and landing us in the helicopter. From volunteers, promotions, retirements, and funerals, your integrity alwas shines through . Today and everyday you’re my inspiration ! 🤗 .

PSA: if you’re a pet owner, and definitely if you’re a,”Dog professional”, listen up! This is really REALLY simple. When you get a new puppy, they don’t usually come completely crate trained or house broken. Sometimes you get lucky but it’s VERY rare.
When a puppy starts peeing in the crate, DO NOT WITHHOLD WATER! When you do, you’re screwing up the whole process. I’m not saying put it in the crate, I’m saying keep letting them get a drink as they come in and go outside. I’m saying make sure you let them drink after food.
If the puppy pees in the crate, take them out more! Repetition is the need, not water restriction! If the puppy pees in the crate right after you came back in, then don’t take them out immediately after they do that. Sometimes you get an intelligent pup who realizes that you jump up off the couch the moment they do and let them out of the crate. Let them stay in there like 3-5 minutes and then walk them and put them right back. If you’re a Dog professional, have another crate ready and pull them out the dirty crate and put them in the clean one.
Water restrictions lead to a puppy that’s going to hit that water like it’s never going to see it again. Water restrictions cause the pup tons of stress and anxiety. Water restrictions usually end up with the pup getting a UTI and now you have a vet bill, a puppy with anxiety about water, and is still peeing in the crate.
