Puppy's 1st grooming session. I love working with clients who are eager to learn how to manage their pup's care between grooms. They are invited participate during the session so their puppy can be more comfortable, and so they can learn the tools and techniques they need to maintain their pup's coat and overall health between grooms. They are happy to comply with my recommendation to set up a dedicated grooming station in their homes, equipped with grooming table, tools, supplies, and storage, so they can readily care for their precious furbaby between appointments. Do I charge more for this service? Absolutely not. It comes back in spades, in terms of the client's bond with their dog, the dog's training, coat maintenance, and overall health.😊

This is so poignant and true, and my business model is built on this philosophy. Owners are always welcome to stay during a their dogs' groom, to give anxious pups the security of knowing they aren't being abandoned.

A rescued puppy, facing its first grooming experience, constantly looks back at its owner for reassurance. This innocent act speaks volumes about the bond between animals and humans—how trust, love, and security are formed even in the face of new, unfamiliar experiences. The puppy, once lost and uncertain, now seeks the comfort of its owner’s presence. This simple yet profound moment reflects the deep connection that can form between us and the animals we care for.

The story of this puppy is a reminder that love doesn’t always come easily; sometimes, it’s earned through small acts of patience, understanding, and care. Animals, like humans, seek comfort in the familiar, and when we provide them with love and security, they thrive. This moment is a lesson in how we can be there for one another, offering reassurance in times of vulnerability.

Toby, an Old English Sheepdog, age 13, would regularly come into my salon every 3 months for comfort grooms, as a more frequent schedule would have been too difficult for him. However, recently he has been having difficulty standing up from the floor, and can't stand or walk for more than couple of minutes at a time, even with support. So now he needs to be groomed at home, where he can rest comfortably in his bed. Toby relaxed and enjoyed being pampered, and he feels happy and refreshed. His mama loves his low-maintenance comfort clip, and is relieved that he didn't have to strain himself to get tidied-up. Before, during and after pics attached.
