Sharing Thanksgiving with your kitty is one of the best parts of the holiday. As you plan your Thanksgiving menu please keep in mind that not all human food is safe for cats. There are many more foods that are unsafe for cats that aren't on this list. Chocolate, Xylitol and many other artificial sweeteners are highly toxic to cats as are many spices. That means no dessert or foods with spices. Dairy can be hard on the digestive tract, so no mashed potatoes either. There are PLENTY of safe foods on your menu for you to share. Please consult your veterinarian if you are unsure of any specific foods that you want to share with your cats.

Lark is a beautiful little girl who is a little over 2 years old. She absolutely loves other cats and seems to thrive if she has a playmate. She lost her eye as a kitten because she had such a severe upper respiratory and eye infection. She was trapped from her feral colony to TNR her but she was too sick. Due to her eye situation, she does not jump on counters and tables because she has no depth perception. But she plays like crazy and loves to watch movement and wrestle with her brothers. She is so vibrant and filled with joy and she would make a wonderful companion.

Our waiting list is so long & our hearts break every time we can't help another due to all of our cats & kittens waiting to find their forever home. These are just a few of the many reasons to adopt from a rescue. Do you have room in your home? In your heart? You can help us help them! Not in a position to adopt? Roman and Daryn comprise an outstanding dynamic duo. Having weathered a tough start in life, they are now prospering in their foster home. Roman's eye, which was compromised by untreated upper respiratory infections before rescue, is of no consequence. These siblings exhibit a delightful mix of playful roughness and endearing affection. Although they can be adopted separately, they naturally form a perfect pair.

You hear it said all the time: "it takes a village." Indeed, it takes all of us working together to help animals in need because, sadly, there are more animals that need help than there are people to help them. Rescues are overrun! Not just ours. Every single rescue.

The next time you find an animal that needs help, TAKE INITIATIVE to help that animal yourself. Don't wait for the rescue or animal control officer to show up; you've got the same ability to make a difference in the life of that animal as any one of us at Wayward Whiskers. Especially heading into winter, we need all hands on deck. Do what you can to help a cat in need to alleviate the pressure on local rescues.

We can make a better life for our stray and community cats if we work together, regardless of the weather. Join us!🐾❤️

Meet Rikkola! This gentleman is a little shy at first but once he knows you, he will eat from your hand, loves pets & to be brushed. A laser pointer is high on his list of requirements in his forever home! He loves the chase! Rikkola is one of our long term fosters. We would love to see him find his forever home this year!
