🐾 Meet Ronnie 🐾

This sweet boy is looking for his forever home. Ronnie is a 2-ish year old neutered male pit bull in great health. Unfortunately, he was tied to our back door about two weeks ago and left behind. Since then, we’ve been caring for him and trying to find him the loving home he deserves.

Ronnie is incredibly sweet and has shown no aggression toward people, kids, or other dogs (cats unknown). He does well in a kennel, has no food aggression, and truly just wants attention and love.

His only challenge is that he has a TON of energy and hasn’t had any training. He would thrive with someone willing to give him basic obedience training, exercise, and patience. With the right person or family, Ronnie has the potential to be an amazing companion.

We’ve contacted every shelter and kennel in the area, but unfortunately everyone is full.

🐾❤️ Pop Pop Update ❤️🐾

Pop Pop is HOME — snuggled up with his people — and we are so grateful. Because of your generosity, he was able to receive the critical care he needed. Our little rescue community raised $3,000 toward his veterinary bill. Truly, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

He is slowly improving, but he is not out of the woods yet. He remains on medications to support his heart and kidneys and requires daily subcutaneous fluids. Healing could take weeks — possibly months — and we are praying for slow, steady progress.

Please continue to keep Pop Pop in your prayers. He’s fighting, and his family is caring for him around the clock.

💔 Pop Pop Needs Us 💔

Many of you know Pop Pop — a beloved What A Pittie alum who finally found his people, his peace, and his most favorite place to live out his retirement. Today, that peace has been shaken.

Pop Pop rapidly declined and is now hospitalized at AVets in Monroeville. After extensive testing, veterinarians discovered he is battling three tick-borne diseases (Lyme, Anaplasmosis, and Ehrlichia) along with acute renal failure and dangerously low platelets.

His care is complex and intensive — IV fluids, blood pressure management, medications, and frequent lab monitoring — all necessary if Pop Pop is going to have a fighting chance.

💸 Estimated cost for the first few days alone is $6,000–$8,400, with $6,000 already required as a deposit 💔

Despite everything, there is still hope. Pop Pop continues to show his quiet strength while the veterinary team works around the clock to stabilize his kidneys and control the tick-borne diseases.

POP POP FOUND HIS FOREVER HOME! 🏡🐾

Our hearts are bursting because Pop Pop is officially HOME for good — and wow, did he land exactly where he belongs. 💙

This sweet old man is a total people-dog who just wants to be near his humans at all times! He loves soaking up the sunshine on warm days, snoozing on the couch like the true couch potato he is, and politely waiting for his meals like the gentleman he’s become. Treat time? He takes them ever so gently. Dinner time? He sits automatically — no reminders needed. 🥹

While he’s not much of a toy enthusiast, he does take his stuffed animal shredding very seriously (🧸 RIP to many plushies). Mostly though, he’s all about the chill life — lounging, loving, and being near his people.

We couldn’t be happier for Pop Pop and his amazing new family. Thank you for opening your hearts and home to this special boy. Stories like this are exactly why we do what we do. 🥹🐶

Today is a beautiful day in the dog rescue world! We’re saying goodbye to high-volume kill animal control and welcoming an organization that truly prioritizes the health, safety, and wellbeing of our pets. This is a huge win for our community. 👏
