Kai recently completed treatment for heartworm disease, and we’re so proud of how far he’s come! Heartworm disease is serious, expensive to treat, and can be life-threatening — but the good news is that it’s also preventable!

Heartworms are spread through mosquito bites and can cause lasting damage to the heart and lungs. Many dogs don’t show signs until the disease has already progressed, which is why year-round prevention is so important.
