This helps prevent a pet from having to come into the shelter and allows them to find an adopter from the comfort of their current home. When she was just 3 months old, Blossom arrived at WHS as a stray suffering from mange. Just as the antibiotics and supportive skin treatments were bringing her relief and restoring her healthy coat, this adventurous, excitable puppy fell in her foster home and fractured her tibia, extending her time in care by another seven weeks. Even under strict exercise restriction, she remained a happy goofball and a wonderful patient. Today, she's made a full recovery, has a home of her own, and looks like an entirely new pup — all thanks to the support of donors like you. 💙

At just 6 months old, Simba’s right eye was clouded over and the severity of his condition had destroyed his vision on that side. Things would only get worse for Simba without surgery, so our vets performed an enucleation procedure to remove the damaged eye and put this confident kitten back on track for a healthy future. With the help of his fosters, Simba is now feeling great, but he could use your help as he completes his recovery and gets ready to impress adopters.

Donations are being MATCHED until midnight, up to $25,000!! 💙💙 That means your donation of any size will go twice as far for animals like Leonardo.
After a month of leaving food out and slowly earning trust, one patient hero was finally able to catch Leonardo and bring him to the Wisconsin Humane Society. Frightened, tense, and extremely matted, our veterinary team couldn’t even examine the poor pup until he’d been sedated and shaved completely. As is usually the case with such severe matting, we found lesions and infection of the raw skin underneath – something he’d certainly been struggling with for quite some time. In addition, Leonardo had chewed at his own tail so badly that it required amputation at the tip, likely a result of extreme anxiety for a tiny dog who had been fending for himself so long. 💔
Weeks later, Leonardo’s skin has drastically improved, his coat is beginning to grow in, and his recovery from the amputation is right on track. He is currently recuperating in the comfort of a foster home where he’s slowly but surely regaining trust in humans, and we’re confident he’s going to make the most loyal best friend to his future adopter someday soon. ❤️‍🩹
