UPDATE 04/21/25: Animal Control followed up on several tips over the weekend. A wildlife dumping ground (deer, foxes, etc. in all states of decomposition) was found in Suamico and is believed to be related to the animals found at Deerfield Docks. Based on further analysis of the remains and consultation with the DNR, the carcasses found at Deerfield Docks are now believed to be canine wildlife. While Animal Control will still follow up on tips received, at this time we believe these remains are not domestic pets. Dumping of wildlife carcasses is a crime in Wisconsin. If you suspect anyone of violating wildlife law, please call or text the 24/7 DNR tip hotline at 1-800-847-9367.
The investigation into the dog found in the shoebox at Pamperin Park is still ongoing.

Howard Animal Control Officer Matt Atkinson is investigating multiple incidents of deceased dogs found dumped in the Village of Howard. If anyone has any information about the following cases, please contact Matt at (920) 530-1044 or by email at [email protected]. 𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁.
➡️ 𝗣𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 - A small elderly dog was found in a Sketchers shoe box at Pamperin Park on Sunday evening (4/13/25). We are trying to locate the owner of the dog or anyone with information about its placement at the park.
➡️ 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗸𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗸 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵 - Two deceased dogs were found in the brush at the West Deerfield kayak launch. Both are medium sized with a smaller frame (similar to a whippet) and had tan/white/gray short hair. While they appear to have the same coloring and size, one was there significantly longer than the other. One dog would have been placed there around late November/December, and the other likely was there since the end of January.
𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗘: If you ever need help dealing with a pet (healthy, sick, injured, or even deceased), Officer Matt and CART Auxiliary volunteers are available 24/7.
