It's almost Futurity/Maturity Time at the 2026 USASA National Specialty! Entries are now open for all dogs Nominated for the 2025 and 2026 Futurity. Because I'm getting questions, I want to post some information here.
Yes, the Maturity Divisions are the same as the Futurity.
Division 1 - Born October 1 - December 31 (Oldest puppies)
Division 2 - Born January 1 - March 31
Division 3 - Born April 1 - June 30
Division 4 - Born July 1 - September 30 (Youngest puppies)
Check the date of birth of your entry to determine the Division they are in.
Please read your confirmation email from [email protected]. All Individually Nominated dogs from the 2025 Futurity are eligible for the 2026 Maturity.
Remember, when Nationals entries open, per the Futurity Rules, you must follow these steps:
Step 1: Enter your puppy/dog in a Regular class with the Superintendent, via online or paper entry.
Step 2: Enter the same Puppy/dog in the proper Futurity/Maturity Class with the Superintendent, via online or paper entry. If using online entry, use the drop down menu for Additional Classes to find the appropriate Futurity/Maturity Class.
The Superintendent creates the Futurity catalog from these steps and if you are not listed in the Futurity catalog, they will not let you show (per AKC rules). So, just make sure you add both classes for your Futurity entry at the Nationals.
The Superintendent may change these rules at their discretion.
