OK, please help me here. I have had approximately 30 calls since monday, asking for help, adult cats, Mom's and babies, and litters of kittens. All true needs. All different situations. All heartbreaking. All I'm hearing is there is no help, "who can help me", "who can assist me"??? "I need help". We have had a couple of fosters step up, ( so we will be meeting soon), but the fosters that I need right now personally, are fosters who have handled 4 week old babies. They are still very vulnerable. They need constant attention. Feeding, and weighing. Diarrhea can kill them in 12 hours, respiratory issues can kill them quickly as well. So these littles have put us on a stand still. No more intakes at this time. I don't know what to tell the folks who are looking for help/assistance. I continue to give the names of all of the organizations that I'm aware of, yet they are all at capacity as well. I don't know where to tell them to go. Occasionally I do courtesy post. Yet that may take a home away from a cat in our shelter. So I have limited that to kitties who have originally came from our facility. If your moving, and can not take your pet, start looking for help now, not a week before you move. If you have an elder or you are the elder, have a plan for your pets. Where will they go, who will care for them? When you do need assistance, please ask nicely, with sincerity. Don't tell me your going to "off" the cat, or take care of it yourself, the old fashioned way. That really actually takes you to the bottom of my list, and that is not fair for your pet. I understand your frustration. Yet lets brainstorm together. I can only do so much. I physically, mentally and financially can't help every kitty, although I'd like to. So if you my followers have ideas, suggestions or know of other places providing assistance please let us know.
