Until puppies are fully updated on vaccines : safe & positive exposure can be to friends and family visiting your home. Monitored, positive exposure, to kids & dogs currently in your home. Exposure to diffrent sounds around the house. We are essentially carefully crafting our dogs feelings towards humans ,dogs and things. Dogs are like a blank computer if we install positive programing early it becomes their hard wired operating system.

If your training after ~4 months old it is called reconditioning. It can take more of a creative approach and time can very on the dog but training is possible. We can help with that too !

Reconditioning : 🐾🐕🌿

Used heavily in rescue and shelter dogs to essentially replace fear based behaviors.

But many dogs and many different circumstances can have a fear based response to an assortment of stimulus.
Think of it like a computer program that is currently installed that needs to be replaced.
reconditioning takes more time than replacing a software program. It is using an assortment of techniques together to replace established response. It is not just about the techniques. It is also setting the dog up for success in an environment where they feel safe. Also, understanding that each dog can have a variety of unmet needs that have to be addressed as well.

Reinforment : to increase behavior
Punishment : to Decreased behavior

Optimizing rewards to reinforce behavior rewards can look anything like ( treats , toys , pets / attention ) which ever is the most rewarding for your individual dog.

Using negative - ( to remove ) punishment ( decrease behavior ) example : Removing yojr hand in puppy play when teeth touch skin.

We remove your attention to decrease the biting behavior.

Pain or other aversive techniques are avoided.
