Big congratulations to one of our own, Dr. Mortenson's Golden Retriever, C**t! 🎉🐾

A couple of weekends ago, C**t officially passed both his UBT Level 1 and Level 2 certification tests through United Blood Trackers (UBT)! These tests evaluate a dog’s ability to track and recover wounded big game animals (e.g. deer) using scent discrimination and teamwork.

C**t and his team worked hard to earn these certifications, and we are so proud of him! Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Mortenson and her husband work with their trained retrievers to help ethically recover wounded deer in Minnesota — combining patience, training, and a whole lot of teamwork!

As hunting season approaches, if you or someone you know ever needs assistance recovering a deer, feel free to reach out to Track Big Game Recovery — helping hunters ethically recover game with trained tracking dogs. 🦌🐕‍🦺

The best spots to check your pets for ticks is around the face and eyelids, in and around the ears, under collar, neck and back, under front legs, between back legs, between toes, and the tail.

We had a few cute faces into The Wild River Vet a week or so ago. These cuties came in for their first puppy exam and got their initial Distemper vaccination. Their momma is a Newfoundland, and their dad is a Great Pyrenees. We love puppy snuggles ♥
These little nuggets even fell asleep during their appointment with the Doctor!!!
