Good morning everyone,
As you’ve probably figured out, Brian had a terrible health scare a few weeks ago. After one of many follow up appointments yesterday, we had to make a really tough decision, as he needs care 24/7 for the foreseeable future. As such, I will not be able to reopen our facility as I need to be always and immediately available to him. It’s not the path we were hoping to take, but it’s what’s necessary for our family.
If you have an already booked Overnight Boarding reservation, I will honor those as I have friends, family, and staff who are willing to help keep those stays running smoothly.
If you have a credit on your account, I’ll be going over that bookkeeping in the next few weeks to get that refunded to you. Also, please check over your account as we have quite a few outstanding balances for various reasons. I’ll be sending out invoices soon for those as well to get them caught up.
The concern for our family over these last few weeks has been completely overwhelming, in a good way, and we can’t thank you all enough for reaching out and offering help. And as much as I know everyone wants to know details, it’s Brian’s wish that we try to keep the circle of knowledge to close friends and family.
Please reach out with any questions you have and I’ll try to get things answered as quickly as possible. Again, thank you for your support and concern during this tough time.

January 13, 2026

Due to a personal emergency, our entire facility will be closed for all services through at least Sunday January 25, 2026. It is our hope in the next few days that we will have a clearer picture of being able to reopen. If you already have a booked Overnight Boarding reservation, that will be honored. But all daycare and grooming appointments will be cancelled.

I would like to thank our wonderful staff for quickly picking up my slack on short notice and knowing how to keep the place running in my absence. And I also want to thank our clients for having such graceful understanding that I need to be where my heart tells me to be for the foreseeable future.

I will keep everyone updated when I have more concrete dates available.

It looks like we're going to get a bunch of ❄️ snow ❄️ the next few days! Since I live on the property, we don't ever need to close down for inclement weather. HOWEVER, there are a few things to keep in mind if you're dropping off or picking up your pup:

🚜 I am not at the top of my snowplow guys list, nor should I be. I'm not as important as nurses getting to the hospital or teachers getting to schools. Plain and simple. So if you are planning to make the trek in tomorrow, please come in an AWD or 4WD vehicle. Even if our driveway isn't that bad, the berm at the top of the driveway usually is.

🐕 Bring dog food for a few days, just in case they get stuck here for the night. We've got the room! It's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

⏰ If you need an earlier-than-usual drop off time, shoot me a text right away in the morning. I'm down here a little before 6am, but I run back and forth to the house to make coffee, feed my animals, and take care of the chickens, until 8am. I just need to know that you're arriving early and I can make it work.

🚗 If you don't feel safe driving and there's not a true need for your dog to be here, don't bring them. You won't hurt my feelings by playing it safe for you and your pup.

📞 If you're on the schedule tomorrow and decide to stay home, PLEASE remember to text me and let me know. Otherwise I'll panic and start making phone calls to make sure you're ok. You also might get a visitor in a big truck at your house if that doesn't work...

The backdrop is up for holiday pictures! Come and use it at your convenience!

Now…I’ve been doing this long enough, so here’s some things to remember:

🎄 Bring treats to bribe them. The “Santa’s Watching” threat doesn’t work for dogs…

🎅 Don’t set your expectations too high for your dog. Either they come here everyday and are gonna be *way* too excited to sit perfect for a pic, or they’ve never been here and are gonna be a little worried about being in a new place. Remember, those funny, imperfect pictures can be the best ones!

🛷 The backdrop is only duct taped to wall. I’ve learned my lesson trying to mount it more permanently with dogs running around. I’ve provided tape to put it back up if/when your dog rips it down while trying to get on and off the fabric.

🦌 Good Luck Hunters! 🦌

Dog owners, remember a few things to keep yourself and your dog safe as you're out walking:

➡️ Make sure your dog's collar is properly fitted, escape proof, and has a form of ID. Even if you're walking in town, nearby-ish gunshots can spook your dog and cause them to panic. Use a secondary collar or harness if you know your dog scares easily.

➡️ If you're walking on rural roads, wear something orange or a safety vest. Your dog should be wearing something as well, even if it's just a bright bandana around their neck. Roads will be busier while hunters are driving out to their stands, out scouting for deer, or friends coming to help a hunter drag out their trophy from the woods.

➡️ HAVE YOUR DOG ON A LEASH AT ALL TIMES! It's only 9 days, so no one will have to suffer too long! A 50ft long line is better than nothing. Even if you have 100 acres all to yourself and no one else "should" be on it, unfortunately there may be hunters out there who trespass or don't know the property lines of where they're supposed to be hunting. It's just not worth the risk!
