Happy Father's Day from all of us at Haven Animal Hospital!

Today we're celebrating all the amazing pet dads - like our very own Evan and his best pal Blue! From early morning snuggles to endless games of fetch, Evan shows the kind of love and dedication that makes a great dog dad (and a pretty awesome human, too).

To all the dads out there - whether your kids have paws, claws, fethers, or scales - thank you for the love, care, and cuddles you give every day. You make the world a better place, one treat and tail wag at a time.

June is National Adopt a Cat Month!

Meet William! William began his life in a hoarding situation with over two dozen other cats and was very malnourished. Thanks to the dedicated members of Heaven Can Wait Animal Haven, William now lives very happily in a new home with a healthy diet and a brother who never leaves his side. For the month of May, we have the honor of presenting our Pet of the Month: Hershey!

Hershey is a 7-year-old Labrador retriever mix rescue who was given a second chance at a very happy life in a loving home. Hershey is a very quick learner and is as loyal as they come! For a dog that never learned how to play, Hershey still knows how to have a good time! Fluent in her own language, Hershey’s family simply has to ask if she wants to go for a walk and she will respond with a prompt hand lick to let them know she is ready to go! Attached at the hip, Hershey will always be at her owner’s side, unless it is in water! Hershey is quite the Einstein and learned to be crate trained in just under two weeks! She even specializes in lock picking, knowing how to open and close her own door! Please join us in celebrating Hershey this month for being such a special dog. We are honored to provide care for her. Hershey is the perfect example of why we love helping pets be the best that they can!

As we honor and remember, let’s also keep our pets safe during the celebrations. Here are a few quick reminders:

🔥 BBQ Boundaries – Keep pets away from hot grills, skewers, and bones that can be dangerous if swallowed.
🍔 Watch the Snacks – Many picnic foods (like onions, grapes, and chocolate) are toxic to pets.
💥 Firework Fears – Loud noises can frighten animals. Keep them indoors in a quiet, secure space.
🌞 Beat the Heat – Provide shade, fresh water, and never leave pets in hot cars—even for a minute.
🎉 ID, Please! – Make sure your pet’s tags and microchip info are up to date in case they get spooked and run off.
